I love the R but id the D1 and D2 are better than let them out of the bag. Cant wait to get the D2 comparison to the R.

Haven't posted in a while as have been out of a lot of stuff due to a rugby injury on my hand so just lounging around a lot but having just seen this I think Titleist could, yet again, be on to yet another really good product. I will definitely try it when it comes out, and I thought the 905 series was good

D1 and D2 April 15. Stock shafts will most likely be V2, VS Proto, Prolaunch Red, YS 6, and Titleist proprietary.

 

All will be available in LH (I hope in low lofts )

I'll buy it if Ernie Els or Davis Love put in their bags. Yes, they are way better than me but they want to improve their games like everybody else. I had all Titleist drivers since 975D, some of them were better than the previous one, some of them just bigger. One more that improves MOI won't hurt.

Wow. Now Titleist has a wierd looking driver? Call me crazy, but I can't see me ever looking down at any of them. Hibore, Yeti, D1/D2, Sumo, Ft-i. Can't we just have a somewhat round one? I guess I'll stick with the R7, it's ugly on the bottom, but at least the top looks normal.

stayed at Ben Cranes house the last few days and Ben had the 907D2 and it looked really solid. Did not get the chance to hit it, and I didnt even think about taking any photos. Great looking driver, for sure going to be a hit.

You are the victim of TaylorMade Mania. A "somewhat round" driver is not "normal"; pear-shaped is "normal", and nobody does pear-shaped like Titleist. And guess what? The D2 is pear-shaped.

Anything new and different from titleist is exciting - but I wouldv'e expected titleist to find a way to increase the MOI but still maintain more of the pear shape profile.

I had a hit of a mates d2 and it came of the club real hard more like 983k than the 905's which was good and it was hard to work it to much unlike the 905's.

hmmnn...I'll get whichever on EE and DLIII put in their bag. Maybe....as long as it has a 757 in it Im happy. It better go farther and straigher than the R....

 

I wish we didnt have to buy a new one every year, I liked it better when we only had to get a new Titleist driver every two years. I dont even hardly have time to wear a little shinny spot on the sweet spot, its still there but it needs another season to mature.

 

As far as the comment that every model Titleist has put out is just making the 975D bigger...that may be true but the R goes 40 yards farther, so they can just keep doing that as far as Im concerened.

2 things:

1. I hit the D1 the other day. Best feeling Titleist driver i've ever hit. Rather flat ball flight as well. Set's up perfectly and really doesn't look as bad as you would think.

2. Heard from a VERY reliable source that Callaway is sueing Nike. Apparently a Callaway R&D employee left callaway to go work with nike about a year ago. About 2 months later Nike comes out with the Sumo2 which looks almost identical to one of Callaway's early prototypes. Hmmmm........
