Getting very anxious to play!

Recommended Posts

Do you live where you can't golf yet?
Just wondering if anyone else is getting those late winter withdrawls. Probably not a good thing, but from just watching how nice it was yeterday at Dove Mountain it makes me very anxious to get out and start practicing/playing. I've got a buddy who just moved to San Diego and is golfing every single day, sending me pictures and rubbing it in my face. All I can think about right now is dialing in my clubs!!!

I am definitely in the same boat. I haven't been able to play much the last few years so this year will be the first in some time I can get out multiple times a week and I can't wait to get started! It might also have something to do with the fact I'm finally able to afford the set of clubs I have wanted for years and can get them fitted! Bring on spring already...

Upstate NY. I'm anxiously awaiting opening day. We've had such a mild winter it could be any week now.

In preparation I'm traveling to Virginia and playing the Pete Dye River course week after next. :) http://www.petedyerivercourse.com/

My wife is attending a conference and I'm going to spend time with my golf clubs.partytime2.gif

I've also hit the golf dome here a couple of times. I really miss getting out and walking the course 2-3 times a week. It's the perfect thing to do after a long day at work.

I live in MA so with this mild winter and lack of snow I've been able to get out on the course some recently, but not nearly enough for my liking. I played Saturday and Wednesday and I'm hoping to get out Monday because it looks like its going to be 50*. I also been going to a driving range and hitting out of heated bays but thats just not cutting it, I want to get out on the course and get some serious practice in.

Chicago here, so I've gotten out some with the mild winter. Definitely looking forward to playing in shorts and a short sleeved shirt though!

Toronto here, mild winter but not mild enough. Hit the indoor golf dome the other day, leave for Bama RTJ Trail next month! Dying to get out.

Serious withdrawals here ... ;)

But my SO is taking me on a vacation to Aruba in the next couple of weeks ... WoooHoooo! Tierra del Sol here I come! 25MPH winds all the time, a lot of knock down shots ... but a week of 18 in the morning, and scuba in the afternoon will totally not suck ...

Upstate NY here. Winter is always torture, even though this one has been mild. Over the last couple years I've been using the winters to teach myself more club-building skills. It's useful to learn and gives me something golf related to get me through the winter.

This year in the Rocky Mountains has been unseasonably warm at the beginning of winter but of course as soon as I am getting all set to get out there and swing the wrenches we get 8 inches followed a week later by another 5. While it is melting quick I really don't see a lot of rounds before my first men's club tourney. But really what i am worried about most is having a rusty swing come easter weekend when I will be lucky enough to be swinging the sticks in Ireland. Lets just hope I don't have to use the "well what do you expect they are rentals" excuse too much. :partytime2:

Upstate NY has been really easy this year. Means we are going to get crushed soon. Lol.

I can't wait. Like all that is left is no more than 45 days at the longest.

Upstate NY here, Capital Region.

I played, outside, on Jan 1st. Played 9 holes, outside, last weekend. Not bad at all, what irks me is the +40* days are always during the week. I'm patient though, because we have to get a good dump before Mother Nature brings the good weather. Then again, maybe we won't get a dump. After getting hammered in October, I thought we were in for a bad winter...I hope this doesn't mean lots of rain in the spring.

Keeping my fingers crossed.

I live in Nebraska, so it's usually hit or miss, right now there's now snow but my course is waiting to open due to damp conditions. I wish they'd dry out quick!!!

Me too, but they're saying 55* here tomorrow and most of the snow is gone. So we're going to get in 18 (if the winds will slow down to at least 30 :() before we get more snow on Sunday.

Same boat. I live in Quebec. I can't wait to get to the range, then the course. I should be able to go there within the next 3-4 weeks (I'll gladly pay the extra $2 for the heating).

The winter has been pretty warm actually. Not much snow, but today it did snow quite a bit. Very few courses here open up before April, if any.

ya I'm having difficulty deciding which course TO play!

CA North bay area has been a pretty steady 70* this winter!

Wine country golf is at its best people... I'm not trying to rub it in :sorry:

But seriously, we are having a golfers winter out here and it's insane!!!

I am in Detroit and having a serious case of withdrawal. I was looking out the back window today with my 6 iron in my hand. I can't take it anymore!!!

Also from Michigan (Lansing) and I have really loved the mild winter and was starting to get really excited for the golf season to be up and running, then that big snow storm yesterday was just a KILLER. Real Heartbreaker, hopefully it all melts quick.

We had a mild winter in Wichita, and I was able to get out and play or go to the shed on the range everyday since December. Now I have a stress fracture in a rib of working on my game too much. Out 4-6 wks and it feels like it snowed three feet last night lol. Hope you guys get out soon!

ouch...hope you have a speedy recovery; it is a balancing act sometimes to know when too much golf can break down your body (especially for an old guy like me)...i'm up here in minniesnowta, and getting awful cabin fever -- can't wait to hit up alabama in a couple of weeks and stretch out golf muscles that haven't played much in 4 months now!
