Pinehurst - how are early Spring conditions?

Been many WRXers who have taken trips to P'hurst already and a handful more (including yours truly) headed there shortly.

 

Where have you played and how are the conditions? Anything to avoid / anything a must play?

I played Mid Pines and Longleaf two weeks ago. Mid Pines tees and fairways were in very good shape, the greens were okay (not bad but I've seen them better. Longleaf was in okay to good condition. This was two weeks ago and we've only had good weather in NC since I was there. I think you'll be happy.

Due to the unusually warm late winter / early spring weather we have had, the bermuda fairways and rough are coming back earlier than normal. I would say that conditions at the courses I have played in Moore county are above average for this time of year, and have heard the same from everyone I know.

Heading down for a couple of days early next week, have Mid Pines and Legacy lined up, will probably get in a round at Southern Pines, not sure where else. Weather forecast looks good, can't wait to go ... even in the face of what sounds like a terrible spring for pollen.

Hated to do it but passing on Dormie Club. Should be able to play 4-5 rounds for the same amount as that 1.
