My son just turned 12. He's 4'4 tall. Been playing about 3 month.
He can carry about 135 and total of 150..
Don't know his handicapp. But he picks up the ball half of the time, when he plays double par pickup..
He's in his Junior high golf team trying his best.

But I'm proud of him being out there playing and enjoying golf..

I always tell him not to worry about how far he can hit and focus on consistancy.

Im 14 4'7 93 lbs carry 280 total 290-295 and I'm a +2.6 index i average 20 putts a round haha (;

nice troll job there. If you hit it 290 and average 20 putts a round you must be the worst iron and wedge player to have played the game of golf

Hi I'm 9 years old, 87 pounds, and play to a +4.7 handicap and I hit them ball 360 average. How about you guys?

+1. I am 14, am enrolled in a weights class and play 18+ holes every day over the summer as i live next door to my CC and i love the game. I am a 11-14 handicap. The only story that even compares to this BS is that Greg Norman took up the game at 16 and was scratch in a year and a half. Only way this is possible is a combination of an easy course, SHORT tees, and LOTS of lying.
I'm 14 and a girl and only hit it 200m max. At my club this surprisingly makes me one of the longer women at my club.
Women don't hit it as far as young girls do. For the most part these women had not played golf until they met their husband so they are not naturals. I played my entire high school career with one great player but only hit it 230. I have two friends on women's mini tours. The one hits it 265 the other 255. Just keep working and you'll catch up to them good work and keep grinding!

15 years old 5"11 and 135lbs, hit it about 290 with the driver on a good strike. 1.1 index and been playing my whole life but seriously only a couple years. If you think I hit it far go out and watch an AJGA event or the U.S. Junior, some of those kids kill it. I was getting out drove by 20-25 yards consistently in an AJGA event this year. Gained about 30 yards off the tee since last season. To give perspective my PW yardage is 137 and 7 iron 172

14 years, Female, 5'2". 5.1 hcp (Men's tee)

Driver carry: 190-200

17*: 185

22*: 175

25*: 165

6 Iron: 155

7 Iron: 145

8 Iron 135

9 Iron 125

PW: 115

If she hits her 6 iron 155 you may want to go get her refitted for a driver. She should be hitting a driver 230 if her swing speed is good enough to hit a 6 iron that far.

I am GenX.  If you really think I care about what you have to say, I don't.

This has been a fun thread to read. My 14 YO son has just picked up the game. He has only a few rounds under his belt. He has set out to make his high school golf team as a freshman next year. I was much more of a late bloomer that he is. He is learning to consistantly hit the ball still, but when I have seen him hit it purely, it really will fly! Saw him hit a couple of super straight 140 yard 7 irons and maybe some 200 yard drives. But, I had cut down a cheap big5 driver. I have a full set of TaylorMade RBZ irons and Stage 2 3H, 5W, 3W and 9.5 driver. I'm thinking about taking this entire set to a fitter and having them set up for him after a few lessons. I was shocked at how far he could hit the ball! He's 5'5", about 110lbs. I'm 6'2" and 225 lbs & pretty athletic! Shocking that there is not a bigger variance in our carry distance.

So aside from some of the BS on this sight, although it is rather amusing. I'm a 26 handicapper, 14 years old and been playing for 6 months. I am 5'11" and 136 lbs and carry the driver around 250. To any fellow young players, don't focus on being 'the man' and driving it 300+, just find where you feel comfortable, and work at hitting it consistancy. I guess I can't talk though as i'm a pretty bad player :taunt:

I second this. Very true.

Hey W2, you sound like you're going pretty damn well for playing 10 months. It took me a year to shoot 73 :taunt:. But I drive on average 240 - 250 carry, and 240-265 total. I'm 5'11 and 158 lbs.( Also the course where I play has varying conditions in the fairways throughout the course, so the rollout is inconsistent, but usually minimal. ) I've gone down to a 2.7 index, but at this time I don't play to that in my own mind since I have not shot consistently 75 or better. I feel like more of a 5 handicap, but hey, 10 months and you're a 3.7. So that's really good :golfer:

Im 14 years old and hae a 3.7 index, and I hit the ball about 250 yards with 235 carry.

Background info: been playing for 10 months I am 5'5 and 135 pounds. How far do y fellow juniors hit he ball, and c'mon be honest I an tell when you're lying.

I'm 14. My handicap is around 20 (which I am not proud of) and I average around 265 off the tee. Distance doesn't matter. Drive for show, putt for dough. I hit long shots but I cannot say that helps with getting par without being good with all of your other clubs.
