You could not be more wrong. I have personally seen them, and they are BY FAR the best looking drivers cobra has ever made. The scoops on top appear less visible. The S looks very much like a composite 905R. I can't wait to try them. Expect all the Cobra staffers to make the change for 2007.

it looks like the only difference is the size maybe 440 for the D and 460 for the s? Unless the tops look different. I also believe that the S is probably the one that looks exactly like the 905R w/ the two cobra dimples. I would definitly put one of these in my bag for next year. Its between either one of these cobra's, the new 907D1 or the sumo2, what can I say, I'm a club junkie.

I'm hoping they are the new "Pro" version. My guess is that "D" might stand for deep face and the "S" might stand for standard or shallow version since it seems longer from front to back.

I have always loved cobra products. They are way under rated in my opinion. It's hard to tell from the picture, but I hope these have the longer hosel's and they get rid of the ridiculous onset face that the speed series had. Looking forward to giving these a try. Thanks for the pic.

If more people gave them a chance who previously scorned them for their closed faces, loud sounds and goofy graphics (and I'm definitely one of those people...), they'd realize that they're one of the best sellers in golf because they just flat-out WORK.

I respect your opinion. That's what makes horse racing! I think it is a well designed club. Have had good luck with Cobra in the past, playing a 460cc Cobra Comp now.

Same here. I wish the new Cobra driver

(1) Be honest about the face, if it's closed, say it is closed.

(2) Unless they can make the distance the same for ALL points in sweet zone, PLEASE having different sound for differnt sweet spots. People like me need some way to know "a perfect shot" or "just a fine shot".

as reflected in their current staff, Cobra is looking for fresh, new, young players with some spark and attitude to turn their company around. David Duval would just not be a good fit.

The guy who won our club championship this year used an X-Speed with a Grafalloy Blue and KILLED it. I've also seen the X-Speed in the bags of a few of my college golf team friends.

 

Like I said, I'm using one that's two years old, and it's the best driver I've ever used. I never would have given it a waggle in the pro shop if I were in my normal mode, but I was without a driver and tried this with an open mind. Now the S and D series are at the top of my list for drivers to try in '07.

Can't tell you how true that is for me. Gid rid of the dimples and make a true square to open face (in appearance as well), and many more people would give it a try - until then, my Rapture is working just fine.

I know the new drivers will be out around the time of the PGA show. Figure around March 1st. Now that being said I do not know if the drivers they are showing on the USGA site will be a retail model or not, but expect a much more square faced driver from Cobra around March.
