I've never had an Iron that looked so different in pictures than they do in person.

In pictures they look odd, awkward.

In hand, they are stunning.

Absolutely stunning.

I couldnt agree more. Absolutely stunning in hand!

Very clunky looking. The Hogan was not as thick looking or clunky. An obvious borrowing of design but
a failure to my eye.
yes, it is an obvious borrowing from the hogan 50...even the name was borrowed from hogan. however, to be fair the 50's as well as the revered '99 hogans were no less "clunky looking" (to use your term, because neither the epons nor hogans are clunky at all). the only real aesthetics issue with the epons that the hogans did better is the thick top line. however, even the hogans had their own problems. for one, the neck does a very poor job of blending the head with the hosel. it's such a distracting eyesore that it constantly draws my eye right to it when i'm at address.

someday maybe we'll see the perfect iron...

You mean your perfect iron… As I am fairly certain it will not be mine… You are entitled to your opinion, however flawed it might be… :pardon:

that's was actually the (sarcastic) intent of my statement...there's no such thing! ;)

I'm interested in getting a set but I'm a bit turned off by the top-line pic from TourSpec. Any chance one of the owners can post some quality top-line pics of the long (5), mid (7), and short (PW) irons. Hopefully this could give me an idea of what is considered "minimal" off-set. Thanks in advance.

Probably not much help. Think it needs done on the grass to get the contrast

Thanks idrive! This is perfect. The topline really doesn't look as thick as it appears in the TS image nor does the offset compared to the specs on the website. I have a tough decision on my hands.

I finally have a couple hits with the personals and they are very precision oriented. I would have to play with a different mindset if I played with them regularly. I usually try to hit my clubs as far as I can. If you have the patience to seek accuracy over distance, the personals will be a good match for you.

the topline really isn't big at all. it's an illusion because for some reason epon radiused the front of the topline and from the address position it makes it appear thicker than it really is. i wish they would have radiused the back edge instead as i think that would have made it look much thinner.

I will prob wait until ppl start to put them up on BST at half price:)
You may be in for a long wait. Epons get serious money, even used.
There was a set in the BST about 2-3 weeks ago.

I am still deciding whether to put my set on the market. One thing I do know, it won't be half price.
Why are you seling them? Did you compare them to the AF Tours?

Still not sure I am selling just yet, but I don't play enough and my skill level is better suited to my 302s.

Can't imagine parting with mine. I'm loving everything about them. I must admit it took me a couple of rounds
and a different set of shafts but the control I have with these is just amazing.

Then there's the feel..... I'm hitting shots that feel so good I'm having to limp afterwards.....

how much better are the monaccos in them huh?
i finally................... realsised, that the NS protos DPs (modus) are MUCH better suited for modern lofts like the ludicrous 44* PW i have in my kamui pros.. i put the DPS in them alst week and they played sublimly on saturday. they are better suited than the moncaoos in those heads ,and in the epon perosnals the monaccos are much better . distance 1/2 club longer nad lower flighted. plus a bit more manouverable.. the modus are noticebly harder to make sing ...,
and J i tell ya.. its a massive play off between these 2 iron sets for the bag spot. the kamuis have pushed these into rotation recently..
same shafts same buil same length...
these are softer tho no doubt.

owari !

That looks great but is it just me, or does anyone else wish they would get rid of that bit offset? Really noticeable in pics 1,3 5, and 6. I'd prob get a set to see what the fuss was about but don't think I could not be distracted by that.
The Personals do have noticeably more offset in the hand and seen at address than the AF-tours and the 302's. I was quite surprised.
I prefer the look of the AF-tour, and/or the 302 - the offfsets and topline appearances between the two are so similar that they would make a wonderful combo set.
And you can get both those models in copper-chrome...
