Where is Harbor Side? there is a course in Naperville designed by Arnold Palmer; White Eagle, I think it is semi-private but I don't really know. If we chose a course that is really far from me could I get a ride with someone?

Hey guys I am new to this board , and i would love to participate in the outing. No one has mentioned Ruffled Feathers, or Waters Edge ( haven't played it in a while so don't know how it has been maintained), Sanctuary, Blackhawk, and there is a course in Cary, Il but I forgot the name.

I'd say great choices include dubsdread, glen club, harborside, and chick evans park reserve course (well maybe not the last one but any of the first three would definately be very memorable!

 

Justin, you should be banned from golf even mentioning Chick Evans...I know its a joke but a comment like that can really hurt someone. ;)

I hope I won't get banned for mentioning George W. Dunne ;) I played it only once, but it's a great layout and conditions are supposedly improving...

George W. Dunne is a great course. Its a shame that the other Forest Preserve courses can't all be up to the rate of Dunne. I played Dunne twice and I enjoyed it very much. I hope that the other courses can pick up the quality.

A course comparable to Dunne is Pine Meadow and it is in good condition.

Yeah I go Notre Dame HS in Niles and St.Patrick plays at Pinemeadow. Through my 4 years of golf we've played there twice and the course was magnificent. Great layout, awesome condition, challenging...pretty much a perfect course. I know it is highly regarded as one of the top public courses in Illinois so its definately a high class venue.

I think that might be unfair to Chriss,(not to insult you Chriss) you hit it 400 yards, you hit driver pitching wedge into par 5s, I think you should give him some strokes or play a best ballLOL

I look forward to seeing you, the longest guy I have seen was a guy who hit about 305 off the tee consistently, I want to see you hit 400 yards!!!! I want a long drive competion, I can use the driver, you use 5 iron, sounds fair lol

Rich I'll tell ya what, I too would love to see me hit it 400yards, that would mean my swing is there and everyone should look out on the next tee(i'll mark my ball"if you see this leave alone this was my drive behind you) and look at my swing now and tell me where i stand compared to you! its posted in swing performance under idrive400yards swing.then we will talk. I would love to hit one of your drivers, I just couldn't tell you where it would go. I am getting a 8.5 j33r 460 with a UST v2 75 x, so I am powerful enough for a x-stiff but I am sure you have a XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX flex, or just a telephone pole, and a 2 degree loft

If you live nearby, I can get you on Olympia anytime. I want to reserve this weekend to those coming out of town and who want to stay an extra day to play Olympia. Cmon Idrive im 17 for christ's sakes lets drop this whole high school rivalry garbage. Ill admit it, ND athletics outside of Bowling,golf and Debate BLOW. BTW we kicked pat's @ss this year in golf even with Cermak. THat team is pretty pitiful now sorry.

 

But anyways, id love to watch a guy rock it 400+ thatd be sick. Hopefully u got the short game though.

How about Cantigny? It's a great course (27 holes) and has been beefed up for the US Public Links being held there this year. This is my favorite course in the Chicago area, which means a lot with all the good options we have here.

 

I would also second Pine Meadow being a great idea. Cog Hill would be fine, but only Dubs since the other courses aren't really top notch. Harborside would be good too, but just be careful of the Dan Ryan construction, that is a killer for missing tee times.
