I've got a question for you that will end a LONG standing debate here in WRX....

There are two camps here regarding the Diablo Forged. Some believe it has a CAST carpenter steel face welded to forged body, which could explain difference in feel from one-piece forged Mizuno.

The other camp (which I am of the opinion) believe The Diablo Forged has a FORGED Carpenter steel face that is plasma welded to the forged body.

The literature really didn't go into great detail about it as the word "FORGED" was never specifically mentioned when referring to the Carpenter Steel face. Now that the line has been "shelved" so to speak. Which is it?? Us WRX geeks would love to know.

Thx!!

I'm Harry Arnett, the EVP of Marketing for Callaway. I've been at Callaway since July. I'm an avid golfer, have been in the industry for a while, and have been a lurker on this particular site and a big fan for quite some time. As part of introducing the new Callaway Golf Company to everyone, we spoke with the Golfwrx powers-that-be and thought it'd be a cool idea to have an official presence on the site (and others, potentially, as well). We'll be here in case there's anything that we'd like to clear up in the chatter amongst Golfwrx as well as answer any Callaway specific questions anybody might have. I'll be on here in person and you'll see an official Callaway username pop up here too.

We know this is really unconventional and our goal here is just give you guys some access to our company, our products, and our coming attractions...We're trying to do things differently, obviously, and we believe that being available and a part of the community of people that are most passionate about our game is necessary and critical. We'll see how it goes. If it's lame, we'll stop!

Looking forward to it.

Harry

Congrats on what I am sure is a GREAT job at Callaway, and on joining the "Revolution" Harry! We always welcome with open arms OEM's that are willing to listen to those that have bought your products and the issues we have with them either good or bad... Keep in mind that there are some that you will never be able to make happy, and there are others that live and die with their brand loyalty just remember to keep an open mind and lets keep the Revolution going!

Harry and Chad welcome to the board. Going back to your roots or should I say grassroots I think it's a great idea. Getting us insane equipment nuts passionate and invested in your brand is exactly what you should do. Kudo's for reintroducing us to a NEW Callaway company. Can't wait as I used to be all callaway back in the big bertha days. I'm now razr fit driver and an odyssey putter. Help me help you haha. GIve me no choice but to fill my bag again!
Appreciate that. We're really looking forward to connecting with fellow insane equipment nuts and get you guys excited about what's to come from us. It's going to be a little different than what you've seen in the past, but I think we can all agree that's a good thing :)

Welcome Chad and Harry!

Will second that you should bring the Legacy Black Forged to the US. Beautiful irons.

That's not a bad idea! Have you seen the new Legacy Black Irons announced yesterday?

Welcome Gents. Played Callaway X 16 Pro's for several years. Loved them. I tried to like the RAZR X TOUR irons, but there was just something about them I could not adjust to coming from Mizuno irons, Will you have an upgrade to the RAZR X Tour soon?
Understandable. And yes, we absolutely will. Can't give out too much info right now, but next year's "Tour" iron is going to be pretty spectacular...

Welcome! I think it's really cool that you're here and so active right out of the gate. Best of luck to you and whenever you get one of those spare utilities I'll send over the PayPal. You need to bump up that feedback score! :derisive:

Gentlemen!

Thank you for the introduction! Glad to have you online and interacting...

I appreciate your company's genuine interest in our comments and feedback. I for one - am a loyal to no one brand consumer... Some of you may laugh when you look at my signature - as most of it now it know TMAG. This hasn't been the case in the past. Just like some of you - my bag is a revolving door - if it works - I'll play it. After a recent TRACKMAN session - I had my eyes reopened to your product... My friend put it best. "Ryan. You know... Callaway just works for you. It always has. You have been denying that... but you always come back." He was right.

One final note. I love the competitive spirit and fight that is taking place in the marketplace for our dollars. Thank you for taking part and pushing the equipment industry to another level.

Alright, golfware. Had to go upstairs an ask Doc Hock (our head of R&D) about this one. From the man himself:

"Definitely the second one.

The face of DF is forged Carpenter 455 steel. The body is forged 1020 carbon steel. Both of the parts are high precision forgings which allows us to laser weld them together very accurately. The scorelines are high precision end-mill machined. Finally the head receives a chrome plate derived from our highly preferred Tour Muscleback clubs."

How's that?

I don't believe so at this time as they are only available in Europe and Asia. It's good to see how many of you are interested, though. I'll bring it up to the team.

thank you... one coming my direction now :)

TRACKMAN - outdoor range. the ball flight on the razr fit is just sick. i mentioned it before in another thread, but it actually pissed me off. my optimized driver was rolling out to where this was carrying to. the ball speeds were the same. but the results were different. i saw numbers, but more importantly i watched ball after ball land in spots it shouldn't.

Welcome, Chad & Harry. Welcome to the madness. I've never been a one brand guy, but will tell you that Callaway/GolfWRX has treated me well considering I'm just some random guy on an internet forum. Doesn't hurt that the stuff I've bought on my own seems to work well for me. Looking forward to the 2013 line.

Ha! I actually had no hand in the naming process, but I can't say I'm mad about it.

Now I just have to convince them to name the next line "BACKS." #RAZRBACKS
