Don't have enough experience with the 58's to comment on that. My guess who be they are pretty close.

I just changed from MP67's and so far appreciate the 64's higher ball flight leading to a yardage gain over an above the stronger lofts.

 

67's had PX 5.5 satins then KBS Tour R. Shafts changes due to a general yardage loss (age, fitness, speed, strength) and stinging spinning ball flight that limited distance. Tour R improved mishit yardage losses but little for distance loss.

 

Enter the 64's. 3 to 5g heavier heads and return to the PX 5.5. Immediate higher ball flight with a distance gain on all shots including miss hits as compared to the KBS. 12 to 15% longer 5 iron seems to be the distance gain, although half a season will be a much better indicator. The biggest change other than higher ball flight is a more quietly solid sound and feel on centre strikes along with added forgiveness on misses. The 64's also have a much more forgiving sole, where the 67 might heel grab turf the 64's seem to be more forgiving... more playing time necessary to determine the actual improvement through turf. There are also a few shots I need to re-experience to determine the sole turf interaction benefit(s).

 

Over all as most reviewers have said in the past the 64's are an enjoyable cavity with bladey characteristics.

 

I am going to reshaft my playing MP60 4 iron to the MP64 4i since the 64's work so well. The 5-P so far are forgiving and the 4i will complete my set 4-P in 64's along with MP R's in 52/54/56 & 60 depending upon the day I mix up the wedges. The large gap between 46P and 54*10 is a wee concern, so bringing back the 52*7 for some play time which likely brings the 56*10.

Anyone still gaming these? How do you like them? They where what the 63's where supposed to be, one of the reasons i went to the MP4, because I felt the 63 was a blade, and hell might as well go MP4

 

Thought about maybe giving the 64's a try or waiting to the new mp"x" / mp18 come out. Only think that keeps me from bagging these is the pw and bit larger scoring clubs

I thought the 64s where good but if you loved the 4s I think you'd be better off with them. The 64s felt amazing but lacked forgiveness big time for me. I think the 69s are more forgiving and the 4s are just a** if not more forgiving than the 64s. Also the 4s are relatively easy to elevate. Plus Mizuno really got the short irons right in the 4s. There is new sets on the bay for $640. I'll be getting a set when my 900 forged sell and possibly a mp 5 3-5 iron to match ;-)

As for the new 18s, I like the satin finish but I'm not seeing the technology in the MB. I may end up with a set of those as well! But the MP 4 is a special iron and I really think they are the best Mizuno blade ever!
