sad to see no double cog, we'll see whats rolls out for us southpaws, probably wont hit my bag till august lol

Β

Also, guys - while we didn't put the dual cogs on stock drivers, they will be available for custom orders. One way to do this would be to call our custom order line at 877-225-5292 when the driver is available.

Β

Solid. Get the retailer TOTALLY out of the picture. Nice work.

Β

THIS IS A GREAT MOVE

Β

I was being sarcastic. Terrible move. Watch the pre-books disappear if you do that.

I'd be interested to see what percentage of sales through retail stores are straight off the rack vs how many are custom ordered through shops. I'm sure it varies by geographical location, but I'd be interested in the numbers either way.

Β

I would guess the majority of golfers head into a store and buy most things straight off the rack. Some will actually go through a varying degree of fitting in which they would have to custom order them anyway. I don't think a big percentage of sales would be people walking into a retail store already knowing exactly what they want and placing the order through the store.

Β

If you leave your retail partners--the ones who have been buying and promoting your absolute garbage for the past 5 years, out of the loop--you are in real trouble. Just promoting it here is ridiculous. "Hey--call us for you r needs!" Cool. Then don't go try to use someone else's LM. Don't go to a demo day at a club. Don't take it back to a retailer to send it back when the composite crown cracks. You wanna sell it straight to the consumer? You handle all of it then. Don't trade it in to a retailer, don't demo a club from a retailer--just stay away. Nice message from a company leaking money, market share and employees.

Β

Smacky , I generally agree with most of your posts, but you are wrong on this one. Callaway has always had a website and phone center for direct orders, customers will always try a club at a local retail site and then order on the phone or web, and in this specific case, callaway was just letting us know that the double cog will be available which will be a tiny fraction of the business.

I couldn't agree more. Just yesterday I called Callaway to ask for some help on a question I needed answered. They differed me to Callaway Canada.

Β

Callaway Canada answered my question. But when it came down to actual hardware they asked for my exact location and told me where the nearest retailer is to get what I'm looking for. And they stressed it out. They assure me the retailers have the stock and I should have no problem getting it through retailers.

I know this can't happen. But what I would live to see is a apples to apples comparison of the current FIT & Xtreme.

1) Same shaft, same weights, same ball. Jist to see how the head alone has changed numbers.
2) Then one with the OEM shaft of each model.

Hi Harry,

Okay, how's the "sound/feel" of the FIT Extreme? Would you say it's similar to the FIT, or more muted like the Razr Hawk Tour. Just wondering.
I deleted my earlier post just to keep us on topic, Smacky, we can take our conversation to PMs or phone of you'd like.

The sound is more muted on the Extreme and more Razr Hawk-like. That's not a first hand comparison because I haven't hit a Hawk. But this is what the engineers were after with this particular driver.

Harry--we're good. We both have the same goal--Callaway's ongoing strength. Like I've posted from the beginning, this is a better business with Callaway strong and viable. I was one of the first ones in here banging the drum for Callaway's 2013 offerings. I WANT you to succeed. Nothing would make me happier. Some day we'll meet (it's inevitable) and I'll buy you a couple cold ones.

With the new release Callaway have made a few judgment calls which might exclude the Razr Fit Extreme from as a wide an audience as possible.

I feel an opportunity been missed by not adding a high quality real deal ultra light (< 50 grams) shaft option. (for example , a std 63 gram ladies flex makes no real sense to me)

I know GolfWrx is populated with plus handicap 300 yard 8.5 degree players but the 9.5 and 10.5 models are where the money will be made or lost on this release so the decision to only offer the 440cc head size in the most popular lofts (9.5, 10.5) might backfire. The original Razr Fit even at 460cc was one of the smallest footprint drivers on the market. I can see a lot of golfers being intimidated by the 440cc head on the10.5 and 9.5 Fit Extreme

While I hope the Razr Fit extreme turns out to be a success for Callaway simply because it appeals to my equipment tastes (lots of technology disguised in a very traditional package), there is nothing in the new model which would make me want to upgrade.

I can’t help thinking that if you are a normal handicap golfer you would be smart to pick up one of the original drivers as the price bottoms out.

I have a feeling that demographic will be filled by another line that is yet to be released

"Callaway's UDesign for the Razr Fit Xtreme driver will launch on Jan. 18 with the driver. Consumers will be able to choose from eight different color options -- black, white, blue, red, orange, green, purple and yellow -- which can be placed on the sole, crown, or both. Laser etching on the sole will also be available, although pricing is still undetermined. Expect for it to be around $50."

Well, it looks like it will be a very formal affair.......... "Triple Black"
Black Crown, Black Sole, and the Black Tie

Looks like a great driver Callaway and since I have the Cally razr x MBs in the bag, this driver will be an excellent addition.
Done deal!

Question for Harry........
Will the UDesign also include the head cover color? OR is Green trim it?

Sadly, Callaway’s mainstream driver products to date have had very closed face setups. The original Razr Fit was a nice departure offering a visually pleasing setup with a high degree of forgiveness.

Harry;
Would also like to know about head cover color on U design?
Will U design drivers only be available through Callaway web site?
Can you you give a little info on RazrFit Xtreme vs X Hot drivers?

Why did you have to post these pictures? Now I'm out an extra $50 clams. I wish you could add an alignment mark on the crown - nothing inspires confidence like looking down and reading "Don't Skymark Me".

Love that red. Gotta have one. So much better than the TMNT green.
So I guess the "top of the club" wraps around underneath when it comes to color selection.
