Add the double cog sleeve and I am in!!!
I'm with you and I'm sure I'm not the only one! Why not just have the double Cog straight out of the gate? Everyone at Callaway should know by now we all want the Double Cog adjustability.
Cause rumours are now out and saying a bigger and badder animal (X Hot) is coming from callaway and it's adjustable. They might be saving the double cog for that one.

So 2 drivers this year.

Xtreme = Base model
X Hot = Tour model

Um, no.

Smack- can I shoot you a PM?

sad to see no double cog, we'll see whats rolls out for us southpaws, probably wont hit my bag till august lol
Also, guys - while we didn't put the dual cogs on stock drivers, they will be available for custom orders. One way to do this would be to call our custom order line at 877-225-5292 when the driver is available.
Solid. Get the retailer TOTALLY out of the picture. Nice work.

What is the standard length of this driver? Is this going to be another 46 inch driver?
I believe it's 45.5". Although at D-4, it can shortened to 45" or even 44.75" and still feel awesome.
I'd be looking at something in the 44.5-44.75" range as I play my current drivers at 44.75".

Not really. Heck. I had my Razr Hawk Tour with a Speeder 652 at 44.5" and C9! It was awesome. And that was a 69 gram shaft

Everytime I look at the profile of the club from the bottom I just get excited. It has a great shape to it. The Fit was a great driver, and I may very well keep playing that through the year. But, it will be very tough resisting this club, especially with the 7M3 as stock. It's a great move that, to be honest, I never thought they'd do. Other than the VooDoo in the FT Tour, they haven't really hit a home run with their stock shafts. I can even move my cogs from my TA over to this one. A tough decision indeed...

Designed after the FT Tour? I think they might be onto to something here! IIRC, the FT Tour was based on the FT-3, which IMO is still as long as ANY driver on the market, just not as forgiving. Also, 280 CPM'S in the Trinity? PERFECT!

Ok, I gotta know how you got that club so light. Loved my Razr Hawk but it always felt a bit heavy to swing.

Well. The swingweight on my Razr Hawk Tour was something like D-6 at 45.5". Maybe a tad higher. I sent it in to Callaway for a reshaft with a Speeder 652 Tour Spec (based upon the CS reps advice), and had it at a finished length of 44.5" instead of 45.5". The swingweight for me was perfect.

I'd be interested to see what percentage of sales through retail stores are straight off the rack vs how many are custom ordered through shops. I'm sure it varies by geographical location, but I'd be interested in the numbers either way.

I would guess the majority of golfers head into a store and buy most things straight off the rack. Some will actually go through a varying degree of fitting in which they would have to custom order them anyway. I don't think a big percentage of sales would be people walking into a retail store already knowing exactly what they want and placing the order through the store.

If you leave your retail partners--the ones who have been buying and promoting your absolute garbage for the past 5 years, out of the loop--you are in real trouble. Just promoting it here is ridiculous. "Hey--call us for you r needs!" Cool. Then don't go try to use someone else's LM. Don't go to a demo day at a club. Don't take it back to a retailer to send it back when the composite crown cracks. You wanna sell it straight to the consumer? You handle all of it then. Don't trade it in to a retailer, don't demo a club from a retailer--just stay away. Nice message from a company leaking money, market share and employees.

Smacky, Chad was just trying to be service oriented. Give him a break. Clearly the intention isn't to disintermediate our retail partners with custom. Our retail partners know that and we've been beating the trail for months demonstrating how we will service differently. We hardly handle any direct custom orders whatsoever, and I believe you probably know that. So let's try to keep things above the belt here. But appreciate your continuing to keep us honest here by pointing out or sins of the past, even when some of it is just blather (five years of "garbage?" C'mon, man!). Believe me, as much intensity in the vitriol you espouse typing them, we're equally as intense at trying to correct them and get back to where we know we can go.

Dude, don't change the subject. I have no vitriol toward Callaway. None. Service oriented is "Call your pro or trusted retailer--they can ABSOLUTELY do that for you!" Like I've said MANY TIMES--Callaway's CS has been SECOND TO NONE FOR YEARS. Don't try to spin my views. Spin Callaway's all you want, but not mine. As far as I'm concerned, it IS above the belt to be disappointed in another PR mistake. Like tweeting absolutely incorrect info about what your premier player in playing and then trying to convince people that the lead R&D guy didn't know what he was playing. Again--I have spent HOURS on this site defending Callaway. In THESE NEW THREADS I've been defending Callaway. But truth is truth--and spin is spin. It was a bad decision to suggest calling Callaway. Period.

sad to see no double cog, we'll see whats rolls out for us southpaws, probably wont hit my bag till august lol
Also, guys - while we didn't put the dual cogs on stock drivers, they will be available for custom orders. One way to do this would be to call our custom order line at 877-225-5292 when the driver is available.

Solid. Get the retailer TOTALLY out of the picture. Nice work.

THIS IS A GREAT MOVE

I was being sarcastic. Terrible move. Watch the pre-books disappear if you do that.

Smacky , I generally agree with most of your posts, but you are wrong on this one. Callaway has always had a website and phone center for direct orders, customers will always try a club at a local retail site and then order on the phone or web, and in this specific case, callaway was just letting us know that the double cog will be available which will be a tiny fraction of the business.
