I'm around a 6 hcp. I've never been fitted and always played stock shafts. Not a noob, just never had the scratch. My question is what kind of differences would I notice with one of these shafts? My swing speed with a driver is around 120mph. I currently hit a Big Bertha Steelhead and she hasn't failed me so far. Are the changes in technology so much that I would notice a difference? Any help would be much appreciated. Oh, and the Extreme looks freakin awesome!!!! Thanks.

What flex do you use now? vs a steelhead I think you will see yardage with a new head and a properly fitted shaft.

Do you have any problems now? Hook or slice?

Can't wait to battle out the 8.5 extreme against my ft tour and fit.
Good chance the bag will have:
2 & 3 proto hybribs
4 through 7 new x-forged irons
8-pw proto mb's
52* & 58* x-forged c-grind md grooves :)
With this driver, those proto hybrids and the new X-Forged you can definitely put together a sick Callaway bag for 2013.

I've got the torque at 3.3 on the 7m3. Am I missing something? Do they also have a 4.1 and a 3.8? I think they did something like that with the Prolite back in the day.

In regards to the shaft specs, maybe they did what ping did this year with their aftermarket shafts. They stated what they measured the specs to be, not what the mfg spec sheet stated.
That sounds like that could be the explanation. Makes sense to me.

Lots of nice changes - less swing weight, .335 hosel, feel/sound -- BUT D4 and 45.5 inches with a 69-71g shaft?

Why not 45 inches, and why not 50g shaft options?

Callaway, you lost me there...

Ouzo, S flex. My mis is a hook left.
I would so be hitting a X flex with your swing speed. Low torque & mid-high kick.

I got fit for a driver and saw a difference. My advice would be to go to one that has a radar(trackman, etc.) so they can show you the numbers.

Agree 100%. I can actually see a bag full of Callaway as a legit option for next year and I don't know if I could say that about any other OEM for me.

I think more shaft options will be available with an upcharge.
I think more shafts will be available without an upcharge. These are two great shafts. I'm guessing these will be the two you'll see as options in the retail stores. However, for those that want something else, I'll bet there will be a bunch of options without a $300 upcharge.

hhmm now i'm still thinking about the reduced backspin FIT vs. FIT Xtreme.

COuld the reduced backspin be a result of these high end shafts? The Black Tie and the Trinity are low spining shafts.

I wonder what the numbers would be on the current FIT if one of those shafts where installed.

It is going to be a great year for drivers it seems. I don't know whether to pull the trigger on the 913 or wait for the RAZR Extreme now.

Come on Callaway.

WhatΒ΄s new? A new paint, a new shaft, thatΒ΄s all. Max. a evolution, but no innovation.

Cobra and Nike make the pace and offer drivers of the next generation.

Callaway 2013Β΄woods are IMO out of date.

I donΒ΄t hate nobody.

But compared with Cobra and Nike, the callaway driver is out of date, IMO the Titleist 913 too.

IMO the future is the adjustable loft and faceangle, and Cobra and Nike are the inovation leaders in this technology.

And Nike has a second inovation with their cavity back driver.

And thatΒ΄s only my oppinion, has nothing to do with hating.

And besides, the 2013 X-forged looks great.

To be fair these things tend to work like car models - a few similar years and then a whole new platform. So the Fit design is pretty new to begin with, and it does sound like they made specific improvements to the first run.
Depends on what your criteria is for outperforming.

I've got a Fit and it's longer than my iZ was, although I think the iZ might be a touch more forgiving. But to be fair, the fitting I had for the Fit was a lot more thorough, and my results could easily be attributed to getting lower backspin.

Only one way to find out :-)

Wow. 120 with a Steelhead? You should gain a minimum of 10% yardage with a properly fit driver.
If they have a proven platform with the current FIT why do a 180 turn in a different direction? If it aint broken why fix it? I think it's to early to jump on the Nike bandwagon. Time will tell once it has been a proven winner.

In the other thread you played down the new 3 wood which none of us have seen. So you gotta admit there is some anti-callaway sentiment there.
