But will it out perform my Cally FTiz?
Depends on what your criteria is for outperforming.

I've got a Fit and it's longer than my iZ was, although I think the iZ might be a touch more forgiving. But to be fair, the fitting I had for the Fit was a lot more thorough, and my results could easily be attributed to getting lower backspin.

Only one way to find out :-)
FT-iZ face was huge. Thats why it's more forgiving. But once you figure out the FIT and get into a groove then bombs away.

hhmm now i'm still thinking about the reduced backspin FIT vs. FIT Xtreme.

COuld the reduced backspin be a result of these high end shafts? The Black Tie and the Trinity are low spining shafts.

I wonder what the numbers would be on the current FIT if one of those shafts where installed.
No. Head design.
Only way to truly tell is if the same shaft is on both and we compare apples to apples.

I think I stated it previously with the stock Aldila RIP'd NV 60 S i'm at 2600-2900 backpsin. I'm looking into the Aldila RIP Aplha now to lower those numbers more. If I do then how much lesser backsping reduction would be expected from the Xtreme? Is there room to drop it even lower. We'll see.

Come on Callaway.

What´s new? A new paint, a new shaft, that´s all. Max. a evolution, but no innovation.

Cobra and Nike make the pace and offer drivers of the next generation.

Callaway 2013´woods are IMO out of date.
couldn't disagree more. try a callaway, I don't see what's not to like. the Fit is probably the best thing to happen to my game
I think his point is that this is really a tweak of the Fit, and not an all new design.

The hosel is the same, just a tweak of the initial angles.

The weight ports are moved slightly and wider variation. Tweak.

Thinner crown is an evolution in their manufacturing. Tweak.

To me, the biggest story is the non-made for shafts.

Now all of this may add up to some significant gains for some people. But for someone that might have invested in a Razr Fit with a shaft to match that head, I'm not going to pre order, I'm going to want to see the numbers.

That's not a dump on Callaway. Especially with the shorter product cycles in the industry, you go this route or clubs would cost a lot more. TM did it with R11/R11S, Titleist with 910/913, Ping with G15/G20.

So far, Nike and Cobra are the ones that have something truly new this year when it comes to woods and hybrids. That's just how their product cycles have aligned this time.

I am guessing there's been a lot of focus at Callaway on an RBZ response, which we have yet to see. It also sounds like there is an iron story to be told this year, so we've really only seen the first chapter of the book.

I'm with you and I'm sure I'm not the only one! Why not just have the double Cog straight out of the gate? Everyone at Callaway should know by now we all want the Double Cog adjustability.

Cobra? Seriously? Not even close, my friend. If you have to sole the club, you are behind the curve.
That's the second time you've mentioned that. Can you elaborate?

Does soling the club reset the loft, face angle, or both?

How does it differ from what Nike and Ping do to change loft. I would think that with any 'loft only adjustment' club if you rely purely on soling the club rather than maintaining shaft angle you'd wind up with the same thing. Do the other do something with a variable sole plate that avoids this?

I wish these things didn't keep coming out each year. I am a Razr Fit fan and drove the ball very well with it this summer. My only issue was that my spin was around 3000 rpm. If this is a lower spin head, then it may be even better than what I currently have. It sounds like the existing Razr Fit adapter should fit into the new head, is that correct? That would make a difference to me as I spent all summer finding the right shaft, and I don't need to try anymore at this point. If I can take my existing shaft and plug into this club head, then I may be willing to buy it. They seemed alittle vague on this issue.
Your existing shaft will fit right in! The iFit components are the same except the shaft sleeve that is made for a 0.335" shaft tip OD.

I'm thinking the others do something different, as their literature doesn't rely on soling the club prior to take your grip. The TM system is predicated on soling the club prior to taking ones grip. I find that just fine by me. It actually works quite well. I know the Callaway system opens and closes the clubface, much like the Titleist, PING and Cobra systems. And damn does it work too.

It'll be interesting to see "real world" how it all works. I'll say that reducing the spin in the head by 500 rpms is HUGE to me. And making a smaller 440cc footprint while still making is at forgiving as a 460cc head is also sweet too. I love the look of the 913D3 over the D2, so for me, that size is just perfect.

I love my razr fit TA with the kai'li, but I'm gonna have to try this new head with the kai'li to see if it makes a significant difference or not. My gut tells me probably not although callaway's marketing would suggest otherwise...

Hey fellas - just to clarify a few things on the shaft options:

The shaft structures of both of our offerings, the Aldila Trinity and Matrix 7M3, are unmodified and represent true aftermarket shafts. The numbers initially provided were taken from Callaway’s measurement on initial samples and do not represent the final production specs. Ultimately, the mechanical properties given by the manufacturer should be used as a reference as they have been unchanged for this product.

Hope that clears it up a little bit!

Thanks Chad....!! That should help alot...ALOT of companies measure after they have the actual club assembled, some just use a weight, but not the same weight as the OEM shaft maker. Too many variables out there, so if we just say it is the real deal and let it be, we can all get along!!

Uh, Chad...you finish taking pic's of the Xhot line up yet?? just curious...cuz we want to see them!!

sad to see no double cog, we'll see whats rolls out for us southpaws, probably wont hit my bag till august lol
Also, guys - while we didn't put the dual cogs on stock drivers, they will be available for custom orders. One way to do this would be to call our custom order line at 877-225-5292 when the driver is available.

In regards to the shaft specs, maybe they did what ping did this year with their aftermarket shafts. They stated what they measured the specs to be, not what the mfg spec sheet stated.
That sounds like that could be the explanation. Makes sense to me.

Looks like I was right for a change after reading the response from Chad at Callaway. Nice to see I'm only wrong most of the time.

Hi Chad, Will the Matrix Black tie 6M3 be available as a stock option as well? Not everyone on this forum likes to hit 70 gram shafts. thanks, Jonathan

Not clear what is different in this driver than the 2012 Razr Fit TA? While missing the double cog the rest seems identical?

Are there any differences between this and the 2012 Razr Fit TA?

I put one of The '12 TAs in the bag at seasons end and was quite impressed not sure about the Project X black shaft but overall strong results.
