I just came across this one while surfing. eBay link

From the picture of the sole of the club, it doesn't look like the cleanest reshafting job... :)

Does anyone agree or is it just me being nit-picky??? :fool:

Either way it will be interesting to watch!

I wish I had not seen this post.....I was supposed to stay off Ebay today. My fiancee is going to be pissed! I just found a Slighter Tacoma with a BIN for $175 and grabbed it. All of this because I was messing around with the 907D. Good Luck.....Sevenfourate.

Looking at the bid history now, we know that the reserve is more than $1200!

 

My guess at the reserve is probably around $2000-2500, but who knows...

I've seen the photo's of this club on ebay, It's obviously come off the TOUR and probably with an high end Tour Shaft, i think this guy as probably pulled the shaft and stuck this in to sell it, I think he would have got a lot more for the club if he had left it untouched.

E-bay is the best! This D-1 biding reminds me of the Scotty Cameron Detour "proto". The Detour's went somewhere in the $3,000.00 to $5,000.00 range and now they are for sale for $250.00 (retail). IMO the D-1 and D-2 are still in the very early stages of "D"evelopment.

I asked my club pro about the D1 and D2 the other day and he knew nothing about them. So, we called Titleist directly and were told that "these drivers are still in the prototype / testing stage and may never be released. If they are released it will probably be May or June 2007."

 

Now, I know Titleist is trying to sell its 905R before introducing the new driver line, so I wasn't surprised to hear this. From experience I'll tell you that Titleist seems to trail the other OEMs in releasing new product. Titliest doesn't release new product, especially drivers, every few months like TM and others.

 

In short, I'd say it will be April or May at the earliest.

Guys, let me save you some money. Instead of paying $1700 + for a hacked up driver, buy me a nice Del Mar 3.5 instead.

Agreed...Like Twice the amount... a crappy shaft job is a huge turn off!...but this may be a very unique club in the near future, especially if Titleist goes with the other design for production..this sucker could be extremely rare!

Because upon further investigation, I was told by my fellow member in chat that the club was botched during reshafting, oh and that its coming out in April.
