Best bang for the buck Range Finder

Looking to pick up a range finder around the <$200 price mark. I know very little about these devices and I don't need one to be extremely accurate, just precise enough to be a little better than walking off each yardage. I don't play in tournaments so I'm mainly looking for one to make my rounds a little more enjoyable. Thanks!

Pick up a Bushnell 1500 for cheap. Super accurate.

You don't have to spend mega bucks to get a perfectly useable range finder.

Go for a laser rather than the GPS though, much more practical and in my opinion likely to make you a better golfer. Knowing the distance to bunkers, water hazards etc really made me think my way around the golf course. Beats the old hit and hope mentality any day. Good luck!

I really like the my garmin g3. Was $350 when it was new now its down to $150. Can move the pin anywhere on the green for a more exact yardage. You can pick a point in the fairway and it will tell you how far to it and how far left to the green. It takes AA batteries so no need to worry about charging it. Turn it on and automatically finds the course your at. And there's no extra hidden fees.

check eBay. I got a Bushnell Pro 1600 Tournament Edition with the orange case, box, etc... for $212.

Rangefinder laser or GPS? For GPS, something like a Neo should work for less than $100. Front, middle, back, a few hazards marked off, good unit. There should actually be lots of options under $200. Most major brands are quite good. Just do your homework on whether or not a yearly fee is required.

For a laser, you're looking at the Bushnell Medalist if you want new, and you're gonna spend a little over $200 for it. It's a quality unit, 4x mag. If you want to up the magnification or the water resistance properties, you're gonna move into used territory. I bought my Bushnell 1500 several years ago used for $170 or so and it's still going strong.
