Custom Slighter being built for this lefty: Pics as they come

I was looking for a certain style putter that is pretty hard to find in lefty. Cameron use to make them in lefty, but I didn't want to buy an older putter and have it refinished. Bettinardi had the putter of my dreams which is pictures, but lefty was not an option. So I'm sitting on my couch watching The League thinking what am I going to do? Well Slighter comes to mind. I give him a call around 7 or 8 at night and he actually picks up. We talk, he says he can do it. The next couple of days we email eachother with the custom details and now he is building me my dream putter! Tom has been a pleasure to work with so far. Here is a picture of the bettinardi which I love the neck and head style. The pics Tom sent me are without much shaping, very very early on in the process. I will have more pictures to come over the next several weeks when Tom sends me some more.

Even in its raw shape, it's looking pretty good. That's a favorite shape of mine as well. Looking forward to see the next stage!

I have 3 Bettinardi BB-18's (Anser 4 design) as well as a BeCu Anser 4 and an Anser 4 milled. I have also tried the SC Newport 2.5, but it did not measure up to RJB's putters. This is the style that works for me and I am sticking with my story.

All that's left is the finish, some paint fill, and assembling the putter. I can't believe how this is coming along just how I wanted it to. Tom has been awesome to work with and his communication is what really stands out. He always emails me back in a timely manner and as you can see he is good at taking pics.

Awesome flatstick!! I actually emailed Slighter some time ago, asking if they could do me a lefty putter with half shaft offset, and he said that he couldn't do it, so its great to see that he has managed to do this for you. I went to Kari Lajosi, in Oz, to make me a Handmade putter, and his service was awesome too. He had a lefty carbon handmade putter in my hands, all the way from Oz in just over 3 weeks! Fabulous service!

Anyhow, you have a great looking putter there, putt well!!

The stamping on the bottom is incase I go on tour anytime soon lol! In all seriousness I saw it on another putter of his and liked it so I said throw it on. Probably stupid for an amateur to have that but maybe it's an ego thing... Idk. At least I did not specify which tour lol

I've had around 6 putters made or customized by Tom and I have put simialr things on them, he's awesome.

Tom is a pretty cool guy. He really gets what you want and hopefully this is the only putter I ever need, but If want to switch it up I will be ordering from him again. The experience thus far has my business for life.

Yeah he makes the process very easy and makes you feel like a valued customer.

I remember he made one of mine and randomly put light blue in the cherry dots - I said I would have liked red. He said give him 5 minutes, he emailed back within 5 minutes and the dots were red. Done.

I'll have to dig out the pictures of mine!

They really do. I live far away from him so I can't swing by like I would really like to so this is the next best thing. The best part is I for have to ask how things are going he takes it upon himself to email me every so often. That's what speaks volume on him as a professional.

I can't wait until it has the finish I chose and paintfill. Thankfully it snowed today here in CT so at least I'm not missing any rounds without this putter. I would say its not a bad birthday present to myself even though i will probably get it in my possession after my birthday

Great looking putter. I love the half shaft offset/slant neck. Not many left putters out there with that. I wonder if he could have placed the neck closer to the end of the putter more like a hockey stick type. If you get sick of the putter send me a PM I will happily put it into play for a while. Love the stamping as well its a nice personal touch.

Thanks for the kind words. I'm sure Tom could do pretty much anything you want. When ordering this putter Tom did a great job of listening to what I wanted and making it happen. I chose all of the stampings on this putter from the snow to what I wanted in the cavity. I went to Tom because I'm sick of changing putters. I wanted to create my dream putter and use that from now on. So I should not be letting this putter go ever. One thing I might do in the future is have a custom made for special occasions in the same style head just different stamps and finishes and display them on a nice putter rack

Wow! I just got these photos from Tom this morning. My putter is complete with the finish and paintfill. I love how this has turned out. I couldn't have asked for a better finished product!
