After having these in the bag for a while::

TaylorMade Rac MB's "Coin Forged" on hosel

Swirled milling on the face and feel pockets.

Let me say that I've played every club that has come down the pike in the last few years--

tour and retail.., always searching for something better than I had before.

I've sold some iron sets that I liked a lot just to try others.

These (tour) Rac MB's are no question the best irons I ever played.

The feel is all Miura and they are more forgiving than I need--more forgiving than a lot of cb's I've tried.

These sit and look perfect at address. Virtually no offset and thin top line.

Workable from any lie with any iron in the set

I can play any kind of shot with these--something all other sets I've had were lacking with one aspect or another.

I was actually thinking about getting an easier to hit iron, but these ARE easy to hit if you're a decent ball striker..

Theres no reason for me to look any further---I can't play a set of irons any better than these.

The feel is unmatched, and the workabilty, the suprising forgiveness, and the overall looks of the irons will keep these in the bag..

My search is over.....finally!!

No wonder Goosen and the rest are still playing these.

I had them with TFR 6.0's (regular old retails) for about a month (4 iron sets and one total breakdown of my game ago or two years however you want to count). At that time, upright swing, more of a hitter than a swinger, with a medium to quick tempo, and virtually no consistency week to week. Carried the 8 iron 150-ish.

Distance- they were fine, not exceptionally long or noticeably short with on center/sweet spot hits.

Feel- on center hits, it felt like I was crushing the ball- very rewarding feel on sweet spot contact. Different than sweet spot hits on a softer blade like MP 33's, but just as rewarding in a crushing rather than buttery soft sort of way. Played Callaway HX Red's and BB Blue's back then.

Forgiveness- less forgiving than TM 300 Retails, less forgiving than MP 33's as well. I miss thin or towards the toes when I miss. Definate penalty distance wise. About the same as MP 30's.

Trajectory- difficult to remember and I only had them for a short time, but I think they were slightly lower than the 300's I have right now. I don't recall having any ballooning problems with the shorter irons.

Workability- wasn't good enough at the time to know or bother trying.

Looks- they looked sweet.

Sometimes I wish I kept them- could probably do some serious damage (to greens with long approaches) now. Overall a nice muscle back blade. Very pretty. I would recommend MP 33's first though. Wouldn't push someone away from the TM MB's, but would recommend other blades first.

I have had a set of Tour MBs, coin forged with millings on the faces. The feel is superb with these forgings. These are just as forgiving as any cavity back iron I have played. The satin finish looks awesome. I can see why Sergio and the Goose had a hard time moving away from these irons. The only irons I have been itching to try are the 2005 TP Tour issues (or a set of Lehman 300s), but my MBs will not be knocked out of the bag any time soon as those are way out of my price range right now.

If you're serious, I have a set (3-PW) of 2004 RAC Combo (CB/MB), Miura forged, satin finish, no serial numbers, shafted with DG S400's. The MBs have swirl marks, the CB's do not. A buddy who works a tour van built them for me and honestly, I can't bring myself to hit 'em. I did hit them on the range once or twice and knew right away they were waaaay too sweet to use as everyday clubs....at least for me. So, I bought a set of Callaway X-Tours and put them away. I've had them since late 2004. Every iron looks new. I'll let them go for $1000. ;)

For those of you who have recently purchased these irons, what is a reasonable price for a standard 3-PW set with Project X or similar shafts in very good condition?
