I played at TPC on Sunday, and wanted to share some pictures of the course. Thanks for looking.

Great pics and a great course. Looks like you got out early lots of dew on the course. Early morning is my favorite time to play.

Thanks, I was the second group off Sunday Morning. It was perfect.

 

If you are ever down from Alpena, give me a call. TPC has the best greens around. I feel like Tiger, I can make any putt from anywhere on any green.

# 14 is a pain in my butt. I would guess my averge is 5 or 6 on this par 4. I cant take it. You hit a 3 or 5 wood off the tee to get your chance to hit a lovely 200 to 210 yard shot all carry to a hard green protected by marsh. To bot the pin is allways parked in the front half of the green.

 

If I had a 210 yard high 3 iron in my bag I could average 4 on this puppy. Next year.

 

The marsh you see here is the first hazard. The marsh I was talking about is 250 yards past this junk.

Yes Richard, I know how you feel, 14 is quite a hole. I ran out of disks to finish the hole, so i was only able to get a shot from the tee box up to the first landing area. Thanks Goose, I never get tired of playing this course, the conditions are perfect everyday and the greens are some of the best i have ever putted.

Who is the designer of this TPC? I've played a couple TPCs; the private TPC Twin Cities, in Blaine, MN. Arnold Palmer design. Very boring, house lined course. Although it was in terrific shape. I've also played TPC Canyon in Las Vegas. The front nine was nice, but nothing to write home about, but the back nine was much better with a few WOW holes. The TPC Michigan seems to have a lot more character than the two I've played.

The TPC is nice, in fact it looks 10 times better than the time I played it, which was in the first couple of years it was built. Moved out of the Detroit area about 10 years ago for business relocation.

 

Since you live in the area, try and get out on Grosse Ile Country Club if you get a chance. Best kept secret in the area and probably the best complete set of 18 greens Donald Ross has ever designed on one course.

Nice pics JHR, my dad and Richards dad belong there as well. We have had a few memorable father-son battles out there. The golf course is always in good shape, when I was younger a practically lived on the range out there. Fantastic range with big greens for targets and a nice short game area with bunker.

John, When I reach the 10 club plateau (purchasing ten of your clubs), I think that means my punch card is full and is worth a round....Don't you think? Only 5 more clubs to go....It'd be less, but you won't sell me what I want!!

i just played there yesterday, i have a friend who works there so we got on for nothing. Nice course, i'm not a big fan of a couple of tee shots but other than that, a nice track.

I second cdesana...Grosse Ile CC is great. My bro inlaw is a member there so I get to play occasionally. I love the greens. The members are nice folks...very down to earth.
