Hi! Gentlemen
I just found this site really nice . I recently came across some of the Kenneth Smith clubs . Is there a way you can find out how old they are?
The set i have consist of 3 4 5 woods 1 2 4 6 7 8 9 and a 19 in the iorns and also a putter.also have original covers for the 3 5 and putter
They came in an old leather bag with a Kenneth Smith tag on it . the no. all the clubs is 135537 the owners name on them is Jack Buse
Any info will be greatly appreciated !!
[/quote]Got no real info for you but all I can say is:

WOWWWWW

Hang on to those,,,as a matched set,,,,they are probably a true collectors dream

I thought they only made swingweight scales. I have one btw.

Nice photo of Arnie, btw. The original private pilot pro golfer. Back when a single engine Cessna was traveling in style. As opposed to living out of the trunk of a Buick.

JT how does that serial Number compare to your irons? I have some partial sets and several serial Numbers from 4 or 5-digit to 6 digits. Since KS is out of business, i don't know if anyone would have a history of when the clubs were made.
anybody from Kansas City out there?

Well I really made a killing this last trip. Not only got the Kenneth Smith 2,3 4 woods, I also got a nice Ping bag attached to a Diplomat folding big wheel pull cart.

Now for the kicker..In the bag was a pair of nice size 11 footjoy shoes (my size exactly) and to top that off, there was 3 dozen Titlest balls and 5 of them were the old DT90 Wound balls.

Now for the really good part.....total price for all of the above $6.50 and no tax.....lol, the balls alone were worth that.

DT 90 Wound! SCORE!

2-PW '94 Ram FXTG / Rifle 7.0
Cally Jaws CC SW 55° / LW 60°
Arm Lock Ping Cushin / Salty Grip.

Hey everyone. This is my first post on this message board for two reasons.

(1) I just got into golf two months ago
(2) This is the only thread on this topic I've actually seen where people know what they are talking about.

Before getting my first new set of clubs two months ago, I was gifted a set from my uncle who said I could try out the game and keep them to practice. The problem is that all of the clubs are either really worn or just old and not very modern, not the best clubs to learn on I've been told.

Anyway, in addition to a bunch of old irons - nothing noteworthy, mostly some Wilsons and such - I noticed a Kenneth Smith club that looks IDENTICAL to the ones being posted here. (I also have a Wilson 4300 4 Wood and a Companion 3 Wood Genuine Persimmon by Pedersen.)

Admittedly, I don't know what these are or if they have any value. Are these just worthless old clubs that I should trash (along with the irons)? Do they have some value that I can sell them to somebody?

Should I bring the whole set somewhere (or post it on eBay) and try to get a few bucks.

It feels strange to just throw out a whole set of clubs, but most are in pretty crappy condition and look worthless aside from these three woods.

I appreciate, in advance, your patience, advice and expertise.

long time kenneth smith user. be carefull with the woods. they crack easy . i would not game them at all. enjoy looking at them. i have never seen anything but persimmion woods. the irons are difficult to hit. the wedges are magic. the 99 sand wedge is bested only by the old wilson staff fluid feels. they also made chipper called an 11. always wanted the wood putter but they go for big $ now.. just a thing of beauty
