is true temper dynalite gold x100 a regular, stiff, or extra stiff shaft?

I thought x100 was extra stiff but i hit a 6 iron on a monitor 190 with a mizuno mp 64 yesterday which is one of the highest numbers i got, (average driver ss 90-95) So i was suprised at the distance, is this because it launches high for more carry? or is it a softer flex than I think because its in the dynalite series?

Hi, I also would be interested what others think of the dynalite xp x100. I was fitted on Saturday using the Mizuno shaft optimiser for this shaft, though in the soft stepped option.

I got fitted for Mp 64's. My last set was Mp 57's which I had installed dynalite xp s300 into two years ago after using the shaft optimiser. My swing speed is up nearly 10mph since then.

My numbers were averaging 91mph, 7,6,5,8.

They did not have the soft stepped x100 to try so I hit the standard one. It felt good, had a great flight and didn't seem at all boardy though I could feel the extra stiffness compared to the s300 I have.

Short story is I ordered 3-Pw and 52 & 58 t4 all with dynalite x100. Didn't bother with soft stepped version.

I hope I have made the right decision, I don't think soft stepping a shaft makes much difference to us mere mortals.

I don't mean to threadjack, I am interested in what people think of this shaft also. I had it at a strong stiff.

I tried the project x 6.0 also which I thought felt stiffer, the kbs x felt similar in flex,maybe a hair stiffer but not as smooth if that makes sense.

Interestingly the weight difference is only 3 grams between s300 and x100 in the dynalite which doesn't indicate much but then I don't know an awful lot about shafts.

After looking I answered my own question its an extra stiff flex, I may try the dynalite s300 for even more distance and high launch in my longer irons since i can do up to 190 with x wonder what i can do with regular or stiff.

You might find yourself going backwards too.. keep close notes on numbers when trying different shafts.

If your driver swing speed is 95mph, you are hitting a 6 iron well at 190 yards. I would think a regular or stiff would just force the ball to balloon or you to lose control.

What type of monitor? For your sake I hope it's true but that 190 seems a bit suspect if your driver SS is < 100.

That doesn't mean you can't use it to look at relative differences between shafts.
