The appropriate response is: "Thanks for sharing the information about the app, I'll look into it". Not to be (too) rude, but now that you know it's available, why don't you (and all others who are interested for their particular brand of smartphone) simply go to the source of downloading apps and look for yourself. It takes about 5 seconds. Do you also ask that someone does your homework for you? Geez.

C7015 et al, the app has live video of the par 3, a highlights stream, a practice range stream, amen corner and 15-16 streams. It also has some goodies like live scoring and course flyovers. The attitudes on this site amaze me.

I had the 2012 app on my phone and it updated yesterday to the 2013 version. I think it's good to have in addition to the PGA Tour app.

It has a leaderboard (can choose favorite players), a newsfeed, updates about the tournament, list of players, videos, photos, course overview (hole-by-hole info and flyovers), pairings, a "radio", directions to get to the tournament, and the ability to turn on player alerts.

Whatever live video on Masters.com that is shown... is also shown on the app. So if you don't have wifi and a computer, you can watch golf on the app over 3/4 G.

The app is actually awesome. I have it for iPhone, but just got it for iPad. It has 5 HD pictures of every hole, nice layout, fresh articles, the same intro's that you see when you go to Masters.com which are amazing.

If I remember correctly, the PGA Tour app won't really do anything for us during the Majors....will redirect you to the majorchampionships.com website.

HIGHLY suggest getting the Masters app. Mine also updated to the 2013 yesterday.

That's not the appropriate response at all. Someone asked a simple question on what the app does. Why start a thread about it, if you're not going to give people information on what / why we might like to have it.

I don't have TV right now. I've been watching streams so far this year. That simply won't cut it for the Majors. I'm getting TV this week, which will promptly be cancelled after the PGA as it's not a Ryder Cup year.

You fellows are sadly misguided and I am astonished at the expectation that I should tell you about the app. I didn't have the time or the desire to DISCUSS the app; I thought it was sufficient to do a favor for those on Golfwrx who may not have been aware of the new 2013 Masters app. Silly me, I assumed readers who were interested would appreciate the heads-up, download the app, and check it out. Maybe it's just me, but I also expect that if you want to know the rules of golf, you might first try the USGA website for the definitive source; and if you want to know something about a golf club model and specs, you might want to first try the golf club manufacturer's website.

You know, I also used to post extensive helpful posts on things such as golf courses and travel around the world, but I don't bother anymore. It's not worth the time and trouble, especially if my time and effort is not going to be appreciated. If I throw a bone to my dog, yes, I do expect him to eat it (and without cutting it up into bite-sized pieces). I know, when you played on the soccer team, score didn't matter, mom wiped your nose, and EVERYBODY just was super good. Sorry I posted in the first place.

No. It isn't the fact that you didn't want to post relevant info on the app. It's the fact that when asked, instead of posting a 20 second synopsis you chose to take the time to chastise the other poster, because how dare he try and discuss something on a discussion board. You certainly are not obligated to do anything for anyone on this forum. But instead of responding rudely when asked, if you did not want to discuss or provide the information asked for; don't respond to the poster. Seems simple enough to me, and would have avoided all of this.

Anyways, I have had the app since last year, and it does work well. I agree with a previous poster that watch espn is also a great way to go, but very few cable providers have contracts with espn for that app so it is hit or miss. Here in Reno, Charter Communications just gave us access to watch espn apps last week.

If it's so easy to find and download why did you even feel the need to post to tell us it's available? Obviously if we all go to our respective app store we should be able to find it just fine on our own. Somebody asked you a question, you had the option of being helpful or being a jackass and you chose the later route. Anyway on Topic , I downloaded the app thanks for the people providing actually feedback on its worthiness ... there are a lot of s*** apps out there its nice to get real reviews of how people like it ... going to have to check out the watch espn app too since I am a cable cutter

You can use WatchEspn on Xbox if you have a gold subscription, but WatchEspn.com requires you to login with a username and password provided by your cable provider. If you don't pay for cable they don't give you access to any of the good stuff. Long story short, you might not get masters coverage without a cable tv account.
