Jan Craig headcovers...worth the $$$

Picked up a new tan Sun Mountain bag with a "retro" look and was thinking of getting matching wool headcovers for my 3 and 5 woods. I went on Jan Craig's website and liked what I saw - real wool, not the acrylic s**t. But they're $35 a pop. Anybody out there have these and are they worth the money??

Just like the old saying - "you get what you pay for". Jan Craig headcovers are excellent handmade headcovers. Mine are over 4 years old and they still look great!

I agree with the above posters, JC's are very nice and will wear longer and clean up nicely if they get dirty.

Jan Craig's are my personal favorites, however; the Rocket Tour is a polished product. The knitting is much tighter, since it's produced by a machine. With either one you get what you pay for. By the way, the Jan Craigs don't clean up easily or wear well ( reality check ). Once they get old and dirty, they look like something "Grandma" knit in her spare time.

I like both brands Jan Craig and Rocket Tour. I sell Rocket Tour's in my shop and have returned mant RT's because of holes and yes thet take care of their customers by sending free replacements but in the same amount of time I have never seen a hole in a Jan Craig. Maybe because someone's grandmother IS knitting them with handmade quality.

I have owned Janc Craigs and found them to last, but look abused after 2 seasons. This company www.classicheadcovers.com I have found to be far superior. You owe it to yourself to give them a look :drinks:

If you are looking for the best...the one that people copy, it has to be Jan Craig. The people there are the nicest around, and will help with anything. They do take a while to get...6-8 weeks or so since they are made by hand per your order. I think that the amount of customization you can do is awesome...try getting someone else to knit initials or dates into their headcovers. As for how they last, they will be with you until you get tired of that color scheme and want to order more! Best of luck getting the perfect combination!

i got a set of Rocket Tours they work fine, no holes ive had em for ages.

But its not worth spending a lot on these kinda things, you get over them pritty quickly- you think its cool when someone has them but when you have them i think its a different story.

Maybe if they were customized with your nickame or initials they would be cooler- hey theres an idea!

Owned RT, Classics and Jan Craig...and the RT's were very nice for the price I paid - although durability became a bit of an issue...Classics were okay, but I was expecting Jan Craig like wearability and didn't get it..the Jan Craigs are the ONLY cover I will use after experience with all 3...

This thread reminded me -- I ordered my Jan Craigs on December 4 -- a driver hc and a utility hc -- they said it is 6-8 weeks -- still winter so no big deal -- but I need to give them a call.

 

I have 3 other Jan Craigs -- about 2 years old -- they still look great - 3 wood, 5 wood, utility. Just filling out the driver and the new hybrid.

 

Now for a bag -- SM 3.5 black/baltic to go with those royal blue/black/white pom-poms.

I have gotten some quotes from several companies and while the www.classicheadcovers.com look great, they were $50 more than any other company I got quotes from - including Jan Craig. Nice people though.

I met the Rocket and Jan Craig people at the PGA. I can only tell you guy the owners and there associates are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. I dont know what it is about these headcover companies, but the management and owners are top shelf.

 

I have only had Jan Criag and can recommend them. I suggest that you get the long version also. Here are the Pics from Jan Craig's booth.

 

Worth the $$$? I say yes. Hand knit.
