A journey to Making Golf Fun

Recommended Posts

Love these videos, thanks for continuing to share them. In my opinion, these really demonstrate how much Dan knows about the swing. It also demonstrates how he taylors each lesson to the student and the problems at hand vs. just teaching a method. Good stuff, both by Dan and you CP. Keep up the hard work.

30 Rounds around Chitown is awesome too. I used to live up there for 4 years back in the mid 90's. I am also turning 41 in 3 days, so you are a really old man.

That last iron shot sounded creamed!

Thanks. I had some bad Intent on those :).. The closer I'm getting...the more I stay on my foundation..the more I can pound it

My handicap? When I walk ..I walk real bull legged..:). No only, one round so far a 37...I have to say one thing, the changes in the setup and standing a little farther away are allowing me to really really add some speed I couldn't add before. You are doing the right thing Midwestern..we both are. This guy really nails it ..all the time... I still have a ways to go, but extremely easy to follow and extremely happy with the look and ball flight. Today really had me looking at the ball flying onto, and a few over the 215 yard green with a 6 iron. At 41 , the only way I would be able to do this before Dan would be by using a canon..

Keep at it..good stuff here

This response from Dan is also worth it's weight in gold

Chris,

Setup looks way better as does the whole swing. Big thing we need to accomplish is maintaining the good angles you had at setup. I want you to feel like your right side works more behind you. This will create the depth you need to swing on a flatter plane and slightly in to out coming down. From the top I want you to feel like your right elbow stays bent and right arm and right shoulder work down together. The right arm working away from the right shoulder is what causes you to get steep and arms to work more out. All this will help you get shallower allowing for more lag and high draws. Let me know if you have any questions.

Looking good Chris. I am looking forward to getting back to practicing this week and hopefully getting out to play. I've only hit about 100 balls at the range after Dan's first lesson, and so far I am blown away by the improvement. Been too busy to practice much, but that is about to change. I've only broken 80 three times in 25 years of golf, but I shot an 82 my last round with one blowup hole that ruined my score. I just turned 41 too, we have a lot of good golf in front of us. Dan is an amazing teacher!

I'm kinda building a swing to use in my 50's..just looking ahead I guess. :). My realistic outlook is less than 5 rounds this year, but my goal is still to be under 80 each time. As many balls as I hit, I can never say I'm not " warmed up"...lol.. I wish I took my driver today..just a 6 iron. I went in the Am and evening..hit about 350 balls.. Only (1) fat all day.. That is very good for me. My low point is a inch to 2 inches in front of all my shots now.

I know what I have to do..and I know it will be alot of work...I'm willing to put in the time and be patient. I will work at this newest vid for a while now.. This one will take alot of shadow swings and practice time. Still love the smash I'm putting on it..people on range starting to turn around and look at the old guy now..

Cp

Plane and body structure are my goals.. But my impact alignments have really really improved this year..I'm thinking that is the reason why my low points are after not before anymore.

Chris, what iTeach is telling you is all with the goal to provide room for your arms to flatten out on the downswing. While mirror practicing or whatever you should distinctly look and feel for that extra space by doing what he's telling you. The arm should feel like it can freewheel at a much flatter plane coming down but you still have to put it there. I know that was nebulous but this is definitely something that will click through deliberate thinking and through deliberate practice.

Great great day today..on plane brothers and sisters... On plane...I listened to divot and observed it.. I think I'm finding my moment. Still backing out a bit, (need to work on bar stool).. But great results today, pictures don't lie

And than I went out , shot a 39 ( 2nd round of year)..

Top it off 75 degrees and perfect out..

no...he isn't. and yes....his video advise is extremely helpful
[/quote] I thought he was S&T when he was here in California, guess he droped that. I wondered why he was talking about keeping arms in front of body when S&T wants them to come inside. On Jim Waldons thread he doesnt sound like S&T either but his videos on youtube shows him swinging S&T. Its a little confusing.

Have never been strictly any pattern. I've always done my own thing and taught different patterns. I've always taught the same way and things. Didn't "drop" anything

Battling the flu..but that doesn't stop me ;). Maintaining the setup lower body bend as long as I can, I hit 30 8 irons pretty pure today. My arms still need work..but body is really coming around. Easy does it..no hurry for me

Hey Chris,

Thanks for taking us along your journey to a better golf swing. I absolutely love how you keep us updated with videos and information. Thanks for all the time and effort you put into sharing your swing development. I enjoy your youtube channel also.

See any differences in your miss-shots now with the new swing tweaks?

Misses are pushed based now,,but again a push is well appreciated by me. The pull..and pull hook a killer..for your swing and score. I can play a push...push/draw all day long. There is only one course within a 100 miles of me where a push is completely dead, the rest a pull or pull hook is a big no no,

This is for myself..so proud of how this is looking. All day , when I filmed..no massive OTT today..this was a first for me. All 8 irons were on plane. Barstool on butt practice now, I still come out of my foundation on the backswing. Just have to post one more for myself, can watch some of these over and over again
