I have no desire to shop in a store where rgk5 is responsible for customer service. If you don't want people to get the free balls, don't offer the promotion. Sheesh.

Please gentlemen, let's all take a deep breath. ;) We all have strong feelings when it comes to in-store promotions and the perceived benefits/abuses of these promotions. Besides, it's doubtful you'll be shopping for golf equipment from rgk5 unless you bump into a history teacher moonlighting at a Golf Town in Ontario, Canada. :cheesy: Let's all make nice.

The purpose in my post to the young man was to make him aware that it sounded like the ONLY reason he went there was to get the free golf balls. So, in hindsight I was in error based on his later statement that he is a regular GG customer. Certainly ANY genuine interest in a new product can be rewarded by the manufacturer as they see fit.

So I, like you, make mistakes in judgement from time to time and am quite willing to admit same, in the here and now.

IMO free golf balls don't make up for bad service...

bad service tm golf guy? wow, im sorry man but watch what you say, i work there, and have for a year now and i have recieved numerous emails from people that i have fitted, sold sets and irons to, and given advice to. I have done over 125,000 in sales and im 17... At gg, some people dont take their job seriously, they just hit in the simulator, but some do, myself, so just letiting youknow...

i think gg is amazing, so get ready for the ft5, i already have one iln the bag and its nasty!

I'll put in props for my local Golf Galaxy (Littleton/Denver). Very helful staff, knowledgeable club repair and maintanence services, and absolutely pressure-free demo'ing. I've walked in to buy grips (didn't realize the world was supposed to come to a halt on Sumo Saturday!) and one of the sales guys there asked me to go over, give it a couple of whacks and pick up a sleeve of Nike ONEs- unbelievably, they were out of the 2-ball samples, and the guy just tossed me a new sleeve. When TM/Maxfli launched the "Fire" distance ball, I was again in the store to buy something else, and the guys had me hit a few and threw me a sleeve. Granted, I spend *some* coin in the store, but it's mostly on clubmaking supplies and accessories and stuff like that.

My point- there are exceptions to every rule, and I'd like to believe my local GG is the rule rather than the exception.

nice, yep we will do anything for the customer, atleast we say that, and i know about myself, but not necessarily those at any store outside of NC, but thanks for the kind words...
