Unmarked Stainless Irons

Unmarked. Odd, ain't it? Only say Stainless Steel 18.8 and the iron number on the sole. Nothing else

Shafts have no band but all say TT Finest Quality

Grips are all Golf Pride Classic. -actually a nice grip.

At first I thought they resembled Hogan Producer ..then Radial ..then Apex Grinds

Then Mizuno ms-8's crossed with the flat top line of later irons instead of curved as on the ms-8

then the japan version of mp-11 or something ...gets hard to find an exact model name that matches another iron with the same model name designation

3 different markets and the models don't seem to align

I looked up everything mizuno then typed in knockoff Mizuno clubs reading of fakes

A thread on an R.F. Mizuno jigger iron ..on golfwrx

The grooves appear very similar...very wide -as in legal limit .9 and maybe more wide opposed to standard .8 scoreline width

Holes at the ends of the scoring lines only in these unmarked irons the holes are connected to the groove instead of next to

the numbers appear Mizuno-like.

R.F Mizuno is what the Mizuno label is Japan reads? You can find more R.F.'s

I've read Mizuno had a custom shop that has put out many irons now lost to time

this set is short. Shorter womans or taller juniors. Shafts about 3 inches too short. Perhaps for 5' lady or 10-12 year old boy. Next to the set I found Mizuno MST woods and an unopened Mizuno Rosin bag

Any chance Mizuno made a set of stainless blades they didn't want their name on or produced a set without name to order

Do they remind you of Mizuno or the Hogans more? The grooves are much like the R.F. Jiggers, though

I reshafted a 3 iron and stuck a Black Widow grip on it and played it this afternoon alongside a 3 iron Staff Tour and 3 Iron Spalding Pro-Flite which has the same basic blade design

All I can say is the No-Namer was or seems equally good.

What do you think? I've read there were clones of Apex irons. Haven't seen any.

Who would clone those abnormal scorelines?

Who wouldn't want their name on the clubs?

here are some pics

Who knows, I guess. Strange to me. Even the smallest companies stamped their stuff. clones get stamped with something

anyways
been taking out this 3 iron as I've been trying to work on long irons
Head to head against a Wilson staff tour blade
Staff has dynamic and this 3 iron has a TT dunlop powerpoint I reshafted it with
don't know flexes of either

rained all day today but got out late in the evening and hit about 10 each off a tee 2x
longest drive was with this no namer about 240 yards all carry center fairway 15 yards to center flag
I want to hit the green with 3 iron.

which one felt better?? man, who knows. cast/forged debate continues
i don't know that this no namer isn't forged stainless ..but probably isn't.

I'm new here but I can make out your post as "Official Golfwrx Member"

It rained all day
the course is called "winding creek" with water everywhere and is always lush and damp
last hole #9 ladies tees to better gauge distance 250 something yards. slightly uphill
I never get roll on this course. I sometimes get negative yardage after a ball plugs in and bounces back a foot or two
maybe 3 yards roll.
this is why I think i can make the green ...I'm raising up at impact/arching my back/or just not producing as much lag as I think I am and produce a very high ball flight
balls ending up 15-30 yards to flag

I'll walk it with gps one day to gauge the accuracy of the markers
#4 192yd ladies tees I carry 5/6 irons off deck

I'm on the Executive and Range Tour working my way up to Full Size course

I'm using all these collected sets/singles to determine my likes and dislikes ..if i ever get that discerning

I'm assuming they're cheap junior/ladies clubs
whether made by a major brand or not ..perhaps some small builder never heard of before

there is an owners band Niagara CC on the shaft with first initial and last name
they're probably deceased if ladies but I'll do a search

My Lynx master irons were owned by Robert E Lee from some other area CC
no sh*t

[sup]The famous Wilson Par [/sup]

[sup]Looks similar enough. Very used design. But even that POS is marked. [/sup]

Well, The Wilson Forged Prestige/Professional etc irons had been the closest
I have a Jerry Barber Prestige that is very close but chromed. Plays very similarly.

Tonight I just saw First-Flight Golden Eagles GE166
Very Similar. I think they may be even closer to these.

I contacted the previous owner. These were built by the husband for the wife who has built all her clubs since the 70's. These were probably one of her first sets. 1978 they estimated. He worked for a company that built up or produced or something golf clubs in the Toronto and Buffalo surrounding area.

So anyway
still like these irons. I'll probably have to get a set of Golden Eagles since I've now got Penna Originals 3852's, TP810's, TP PinJammers

I was actually thinking First Flight myself when I first saw them. I do know some prototype clubs come like that. A guy up the street owns the John Daly golf store and he was the east coast distribuor for Dunlop for a while. When TM bought the Greenville SC ball plant and warehouses he moved 2 trailer loads of stuff down here. There were a lot of Dunlop heads both cast and forged with no markings except the club number and a lot of Sean Fister beast drivers with no markings other than 1 on the bottom. We did loft check some of the drivers and they came out at 6 or 7*. there were also quite a few RedNeck golf forged blade heads marked but not enough to make a set. He still has quite a few RedNeck putters milled faces different styles but all of them are pretty but too heavy for me

these have very little offset. Perhaps even miniscule Onset. I measured the blade of the 5 iron and compared it to the dimensions given for the Miura Baby Blade five iron
Nearly the same. Smaller in all respects to their Tournament blades. Smallest blade I have. Smaller than Mac Flatback MT which might be next smallest
