I personally never have a spare ball on me when I play. I keep one in the cart, but that's it. My thinking was - If I keep one on me, it just makes me want to take a mulligan. I keep my divot tool (Titleist) in my left pocket and a tee in the right one. I also have big thighs, so I like to keep as little as possible in my pockets. :drinks:

I only have one ball at a time, takes away the thought of a mulligan. If I start putting bad I flip the coin over or get a different one, because it is probably the coins fault :drinks:. One day I was putting good and accidently spent the quarter at the turn getting some food and didn't make another good putt the rest of the day.

I dont keep anything in my left pocket but i keep tees, pencil and ball marker in my right. Never an extra ball. I keep the headcover in my back right pocket. No superstitions with my ball markers. But i know of a few who do. Vijay for example. He uses a quarter and he starts off with tales up i believe. He wont flip it to heads unless he misses. He goes back and forth, i thought it was cool and tried it. I couldnt keep trck of what i had it on the last hole so i felt like i was jinxing myself whenever i forgot and wasnt sure if i had it right.

Ok guys I started this last year and it has got pretty bad. I fix 3 ball marks on par 3's 4 ball marks on par 4's and 5 ball marks on Par 5's. EVERY GREEN. I guess its a great habit but sometimes I hear it from the group behind me when the round is over. Asking me if I was a former grounds keeper. LOL

I mark the ball with a Canadian "Toonie" heads up. I think it was Chi Chi that said to always mark heads up because it was very positive. Also, when I move my mark, I flip it over so I remember to move it back.

That's a routine.

If I pull the Toonie out of my pocket to mark, and it's heads up, I feel I can make it easier. If it's tails, I'll have to work harder over the putt.

THAT'S a superstition.

Superstitions, Nah.....

I do have routines however.

1. I always mark my ball "head's up" unless I move it and then switch to tails (I never forget to replace the mark that way)

2. I never take a practice swing unless it is with a wedge or I am chipping

3. 3 tees(3"), repair tool and dime in right pocket

4. I practice swing putting

5. Lamp black under my eyes

6. Relieve myself downwind

When our daughter was born, my wife got me 5 pewter ball markers with my daughter's name on them. I have them in a black velvet pouch, and keep the pouch in my back left pocket for the entire 18 holes. I also HAVE to have Caolina blue on me somewhere, even if it's a ball marker on my hat, there just HAS to be some Carolina Blue somewhere (Go Heels!). I also write, in silver sharpie on every putter cover I own, my wife's initials and our wedding anniversary, and my daughter's initials and birth date. Call me crazy, but I have putted better since my daughter was born than I ever did, and if I think it's working, then it's working!!

The one thing I always do is mark my ball with a Rhode Island state quarter, tails side up.

divot tool left front pocket

long tee, short tee, and a penny in my right front

ballzee ball cleaner in right rear

golf glove in left rear pocket when putting

no extra ball

no wallet

no rings

no watch

I used to mark my ball with a dime because it's small, but then I thought, why am I marking my ball with Democrat? So I switched to the Lincoln penny.

Can't putt with another ball already in the cup. It drives me CRAZY when someone makes a putt and wants to just leave it there........expecting you to finish.

And I never want someone else to mark my ball on the green......I know they are trying to be helpful at times when you are out of position, but don't touch my golf ball on the green.
