What is up with Yonex?

I do not understand why Yonex isn't more popular. They have made quality products for as long as I can remember. In fact the A.D.X tour forged were amazingly soft and forgiving. Is it because they are just more into Tennis and Badminton? They don't have any Professionals playing their clubs any more...as far as I know. I assume they did not want to pay Ryo. Even in this Forum most members don't talk about Yonex in the same vain as Miura and Epon. The Ezone MB is a beautiful set of irons...why don't more people talk about them. Please educate me. Thanks.

I'd completely forgotten about them to be honest. They don't have much presence at all, which hurts them. Even their FB page focuses mostly on the badminton side of things. I'm playing their irons and FW and I love them--a great product no doubt!

Great product.
They are making effort to let people know.
Until then it is up to retailers and golfers to spread the word.

Many people just recognize YONEX too much as a tennis and badminton brand.

Obviously Tour exposure helps.

by the way, their Ezone XP line of products just arrived at fairway golf

the nano line was their pinnacle IMO, eZone great as well but I haven't seen or hit anything they've put out since '11 that grabs me. their wood designs are just a bit gaudy for me and the irons to busy.

I love their EZONE line, still playing their irons (with NS Pro 95 stiff shafts), soft as butter. Pity Ryo left them for Callaway. They should have the financial capacity with their success in badminton, but how much they have allocated to their golf line has not been up to scratch yet.

Yonex Super ADX Forged were SWEETT and only irons I ever played with graphite shafts. Still amazes me that Phil played graphite shafted irons in his 20s

aren't those Ezone irons very much like the Bridgestone dpc? That's what i have now(bridgestones), and wonder if you know if the yonex feel even better? I've hit the older ADX forged from many years ago, and those were THE softest feeling irons i've ever hit.
thanks

no question they've consistently put out special product over the years. losing Ryo was HUGE for them but at the end of the day if u design special gear and have it forged by endo with fantastic stock shafts people will buy....that was the model with nano and eZone....not sure I'm seeing it the past 2 years....

I played Bridgestone J40 CB but the Ezone irons were way softer, so it was a no brainer for me to offload the J40 (as mich as I'm a Bridgestone fan and still playing their J33 and J40 FWs in my bags).

If i could find a great price on the ezones, i'd switch over. love the ease of the j40 dpc, and as softish as they are, i'd rather have something even more buttery. i'd imagine they would play pretty much the same??

remember what solid contact with those nano ryo's felt like? I'm getting a warm feeling all over just reminiscing about them....as good as it gets....

I had most of ryo's old bag at one point....with diff shafts obviously...

nanoV driver type 420 (still best fairway finder over ever owned
nanoV 3w (long for a 15* and easy to control)
nanoV 21* (longest high lofted fw I've ever had)
nano V tour forged cb's (best feeling cb on pure contact I've ever owned..,even better than the chocolate 302s)

it looked awesome felt awesome and played awesome! wish I had a pick of that bag but I spent all my money on gear and can't afford any more iCloud space...l

I decided to pull the trigger on a set on Ezone MB's and will shaft them with the Recoil 110 Prototype. I can't wait to see how they will feel. The last set of Yonex irons I hit were the A.D.X Tour Forged and they were amazing...but that was back in the '90's. I am hoping to be amazed again!!

Yonex clubs were real status symbols in the UK back in the 80s and 90s but suddenly their stuff went down in quality and they seemed to switch their focus to seniors and ladies. Add in the fact that they didn't offer upgrade shafts and their own were very weak to flex and they simply disappeared. Same thing happened to Maruman and Daiwa.
