Original Penguin Clothing; What are People's Opinions on Them?

I was wondering what my fellow WRX's opinions are on the original penguin golf range? i for one have ordered a all day long sleeve shirt to see how they are as there core basic range looks exactly what i am looking for in clothing!! what are other people's opinions???

I wear The All Day shirt as a day to day golf shirt. They're great shirts, I'm wearing one right now actually, as I was just at practice. They aren't as nice to wear in hot weather as some of the Adidas Climacool, J. Lindeberg, or some of the high end Polo shirts, but they go great with everything and are easy to throw on. Most all of their shirts are vrey comfortable, and they make great pants too, some are kind of funky, and the fit is great. Hope this helps.

I got some of my stuff at a Nordstrom's, some more from a Penguin store in Miami Beach, some from an Urban Outfitters, and a couple things from the online store.

I like their styles but the design and cut only really suits thinner people which I'm not.

 

check your local TKmaxx that's where my brother buys all his Penguin gear from

Cheers Gary :drinks: , I actually was in a local TK Max a few days ago and got a really nice penguin polo for £3 in there clearance which i later saw the exact same one on ebay for £25!!!

I did manage to get a all day long sleeve all day polo which is truely superb; i am however going up by one size as the fitting is quite tight!!!

I agree that they are not the best shirt for humid, hot conditions, but I still love the shirts. I tend to have trouble finding polo shirts that are not box cut. Penguin has the older style taper fit. One word of caution, the sizes do tend to run about a size small, if not more. For anybody in the Triangle are of NC, check out Julian's in Chapel Hill. They have recently moved to a new location somewhere in downtown Chapel Hill. It should not be hard to find as Chapel Hill is not that large of a town. They always carried a good amount of Penguin shirts.

I wear their pants, shirts, polos daily, but rarely for golf. Like most have said, they're plain cotton knits, and while they're very durable, stylish, and high quality, they don't do the best job of wicking moisture in hot humid climates.

 

It's easy to find closeouts at places like Urban Outfitters, Macy's, and Nordstroms at the end of each season.

 

I love the brand though.

i am not REALLY fat (6'1" - 210 - 44 Long), but i have no desire to show off my man boobs

I checked my closet because I could not remember what size I wear in Penguin shirts. I generally wear a large in Penguin, compared to a small in the Adidas and Nike Golf Shirts, and mediums in the Ralph Lauren shirts. Penguin does run small in their sizes, but they do have some looser cut shirts. Just thought I would give you an advance warning.

there are two different cuts to the shirts; the earl & jack run much smaller than the all day & daddy polo for example. The smaller shirts have what is called a "heritage-fit"

I have one and like it a lot. i usually wear a medium in other shirts and got a medium and it fits well. They are slimmer fits though like some polo shirts

Its always better to look good then be good at golf. Most girls don't come out and watch me suck but see me after and before looking like a million bucks. Yet, I have a girlfriend so it doesnt matter anyways.
