Traveling to Orlando

Just looking for a current update of general Orlando area course conditions. Headed down for my annual buddies trip next week and hoping no overnight freezes screwed anything up too badly. Playing Championsgate (both courses), Southern Dunes, Ritz, and Waldorf Astoria.
Thanks for any info, can't wait to get out of NY especially with another snow storm headed our way tonight/tomorrow!

Disney golf loses millions per yr. Disney actually wanted to sell off all of their courses, and get out of golf, but instead brought in AP management to run their courses.The four seasons has owned ( 99yr lease) on the EP and Osprey property since 2007 when eagle pines closed. Disney was actually renting the course back from the 4 seasons. Osprey is closed and Tom Fazio is doing a redesign that is rumored to be open fall of 2014.

Anyone know if there's a good place to rent clubs for a week at a decent price? Traveling with a 2 yo so going to be tough to bring clubs. Was really surprised PGA Superstore doesn't have a store there.

We have Golfsmith, Golf Galaxy and numerous Watts, but I dont think any of them rent clubs. I know all the courses have high end new clubs from whatever OEM they are affiliated with that can be rented. From what I see its usually around 50 a rental. Not sure if thats a decent price and what your looking to spend.

There are several companies that rent clubs on the web, and they ship and pick up the clubs at your destination. However, the service doesn't appear to be any cheaper than renting clubs at the course. For example, golfclubsaway.com offers a 3 day rental in Orlando for $117.00. Place your order by 4 pm, and the clubs will be available the next morning.

Thought I'd chime in with a quick review of course conditions from last week in Orlando:

Championsgate National & International: In good shape overall. Greens not running very fast, but everything was green and in solid shape as far as my past experiences at Championsgate goes.

Southern Dunes: Tees / fairways /rough in good shape. Looks like they've had some trouble with a few greens. Overall the greens actually looked lousy, but they rolled pretty well. Faster than Championsgate, consistent to my past experinces this time of year in terms of speed, but looked terribly patchy/thin/dressed up in spots.

Ritz: Course was in very good shape. Greens rolled true.

Waldorf: Overall, the best conditions of all 5 courses we played. Very good shape top to bottom. Consistent across the course, greens fast and true.

If you have connections to Isleworth and lake Nona then I'm sure you can get on at keenes point and the legacy club up near Heathrow. That being said, I would play Isleworth once (you'll love the 2nd hole, one of the hardest par 3s you'll play, and play lake Nona the other 8, love that golf course.

I like the advice that everyone has given you, but if you don't mind driving 1.5 hours see if you can get on golden Ocala, in Ocala (horse country very nice) or old memorial down by Tampa both outstanding private clubs.
