PayPal Question! PLEASE HELP ASAP......

Sending out of country.....

say i sold something to someone outside the country for $280 and they payed paypal and the 280 is showing in my account. Is there anyway that after I send the item I can get scammed out of my money???? The money says its there so i figure im safe but just wanted to make sure and you guys know everything!!!! thanks for any help!!!!

If the money is in your PayPal account, it's ok / done! I sold to US before (from Canada) and buy from outside Canada most of the time. Sometime, you could see that the transaction is in transit. Ex.: paid via ECheck, it's a lot longer but you have all the information needed from PayPal (don't send item before you see... bla - bla - bla).

 

And even if the buyer tells you that the money is gone from his account, you have to wait to see it in YOUR account before sending the item :drinks: Just make sure to specify this information when you sell, so everybody will be in perfect.... harmony!!! :D

They can dispute the charges and paypal will side with the buyer and your account will go negative. So they can always get their money back. Just trust your buyer. I NEVER EVER EVER sell outside the us with paypal. Money Order or Cashiers check ONLY! But if you trust them then go for it!

The seller only has limited protection if you ship to a confirmed Paypal address. The catch-22 here is most non-USA addresses are not confirmed. So know your buyer or check their Ebay feedback.

But anyway, transfer all the money from the transaction to your nominated account immediately and tell the buyer that is what you are doing to protect yourself. If they are kosher they understand what you are doing, if not and they get funny then alarm bells should start ringing in your head. The key is to keep the buyer informed so you don't get negative feedback, and to maybe protect yourself if he files a dispute.

 

Paythief is the worst example of "money lending", is arrogant, self-serving, and just plain useless if there is a dispute and you are the seller. They have us by the short and curlys and don't they know it.

As soon as the money is in your paypal account Request a transfer to your bank account. You should always use the Credit Card option to purchase from your paypal account anyway and paypal will automatically deplete the cash in your paypal account before allowing you to use a credit cards on purchases.

The odds of you getting a phony money order/cashiers check are just as good as getting screwed through pay pal :drinks:
