I Did it Again

Well I did it again stumbled up on some classic finds. I towed a truck for a gentleman today and he mentioned that he had some old golf clubs that he had been trying to sell on Craigs list for a while but no takers. when I got to his house with his truck I took a look and about wet my pants. Needless to say I purchased the following items for $20. Sorry I don't have pics I am not pic capable yet.

MacGregor 985 Tourney Custom 1 iron original shaft I had one just like it in the 70s and could hit the crap out of it

Armour 948 Split sole wedge some rust on bottom grooves good will use it in one of my vintage sets

MacGregor Driver 3 wood and 4 wood marked "TP Special eye o matic" Beautiful blonde woods the driver had been at least revarnished and the sole plate is worn but it does go with the other woods. Maybe someone can tell me what they are

Springfield putter looks like a Calamity Jane type

Spalding Cash in putter 'pencil shaft looks like original leather grip but is longer than any I have ever seen that grip is as long as a modern belly putter grip

MacGregor Nicklaus Personal 56* sand wedge grooves good

Ram Zebra putter original round leather wrap grip has allen type screws in soleplate

Odyssey Driver dual face graphite shaft did not know odyssey made drivers never ever seen one before

Taylor Made original burner small driver S300 shaft 7*

Sun Mountain carry bag real light (not a stand bag) all zippers work in good shape needs cleaning

That is twice I have gotten lucky in two weeks. I think I did ok. Actually I would have gave that for the TA wedge because I have been looking for one for ages.

Cool finds, Stu. Penna are in my opinion some of the best-looking mid 1950's MacGregor persimmons ever made. Does the Cash-In hane the curved basket-weave leather grip?

[/quote]Thanks I thought they were mid 50s they were under headcovers that did not even give a clue to what they were. Yes the Cash In has a basket weave type grip but it is more of a pistol type though I think it is one of them the USGA made illegial

Can you post pics of the TP Specials? I have one but have been told it is "different" from others, sweep back sole plate, wrong font on the "1".

Like Mr Penna said yours is definitely older than mine. One of these days I am going to learn to post pictures I am not quite high tech redneck enough yet but I am working on it
