Glad I am not the only Hogonator around!
Despite only recently catching the Hogan bug, I am now the owner of Apex Redlines, Apex 99, Apex FTX and BH5's (don't hold these against me-for when I am feeling lazy!).
All 3-e and all with Apex 4 shafts.
I think I need to delete my Hogan EBAY saved searches!!

Thought I had a set of PCs scored this weekend for $25, but there were only 5 of the 8 irons.

Apparently a friend of mine does have some Apex blades for me though. Ahhhhhhhh!

Bent them to original lies and altered the lofts south so PW now has the loft of the original spec 9 iron and so on. Means they play similar yard ages to newer Apex's.

i got my pc set peacemeal. some at flea market -some at thrifts and one from ebay but now i have a full set. they are next up to play. its going to get harder to find these hogan clubs in the future.

ok finally got to try the hogan pc set. guess what.they arnt hard to hit! i had a decent round with some distance control issues but thats normal for new set of irons. most shots flew straight so thats what counts. not a whole lot of differance between the pc and the apex 73 . bet these will really come to life with new grips. most clubs still had their original hogan grips. as with all other hogan sets -i love the Ewedge. on one hole i sliced my drive into the water . took adrop on a side hill in the rough and pured a 6 iron to 10 feet .i used a wilson r90 today and its great from the sand. got out 3 of 4 bunkers and on the green in one try .

Got a set of 81-84 Directors. I didn't know they were cast until i read this thread. The Vector shafts are pretty sweet. I understand that the Vector shaft was designed for special grips though.

They have a Taylor Made bubble shaft size butt. I have seen it suggested that Golf Pride New Decade Ladies L59 can be made to fit and give an OEM outside diameter. I never heard from anyone that had done it tho.
Note: Golf Pride's support for Ladies golf in the UK/Europe is such that they don't offer New Decade for Ladies over here. Pretty poor IMO.

They're not cast, they are forged.

The E in Hogan sets is Equalizer. The Pitching Wedge, just a different name for it.

I haven't had a set of Producers. I have a set of the original Directors. They've very playable. Surprisingly forgiving. A little more bounce and camber to the sole than similar vintage Apexes. IMO, just as good as they Apexes that were being made at that time, despite them having a bit of a "non-proline" reputation.
