Hell, the driver was the best shot... It was the wedge from 100 yards that was SIX FEET RIGHT OF MY TARGET LINE.... and it clipped a tree, and went shooting off to the right, in a spot WITH NO SHOT....

I mean I was aiming at the stick...... and got a wedge shaft right up the keister....

YAY!

I just hope last week wasnt a fluke and we actually have an offense... we go UK, BAMA, TENN, LSU, Mizzou, week off, and the YOU... that just sounds delightful... (note the HUGE amount of sarcasm)

I took the plunge and used it today. After uploading my round, I was extremely disappointed at the accuracy of the unit. First, the map was way off, which I understand isn't Game Golf's problem, but the (C) on the map was from 2014. There was an odd situation with the map which I will explain shortly.

Ignoring the map problem for the moment, the GPS was still clearly far too inaccurate to make this of any use, as tracked with known yardages of specific shot. I'm talking off by 10-20 yards at times. In fact, I'd rather just use the website and manually add shots instead of screwing around with the system. The weather was clear, but since there is no display on the unit, obviously you can't tell how many sats it's connected to nor how accurate the current GPS is, unlike using my android with skydroid, and you can tell when it's off (there's accuracy information in the app).

There was an interesting issue with the map problem and the way the website analyzes FW and GIRS hit. It did REALLY well with GIR analysis, even though the map was off by 20-30 yards at times. So where's the disconnect? I mean, if the system plots a shot as if you missed a green, how could it possibly know that you actually HIT the green? Makes no sense whatsoever.

I'll give it another go this week for a couple of rounds and see where it takes me.

I think if you are using your putter it automatically assumes you are on the green regardless of where the GPS shows you on the course. Then when you are editing your round there is an option to check or uncheck on green on all putter shots. Pretty sure that's how it is determined.

I play my round, head home, upload the data, then go through the round online fixing any inaccuracies, takes me 5 minutes at the most. Then I sign my round.

I will usually make notes on my score card or I just remember where every putt I had during a round so I adjust GPS when going through the round. Very simple.

Yep, that's been my experience. You'll notice you have to edit any putts from the fringe/fairway because they are all by default marked as "on the green". Would be interesting to see if you tagged a shot with the putter from say 50 yards out....

I couldn't agree more DFinch!

We all experienced some type of "learning curve" with this device. I have never had my device "disconnect" as other poster stated. One time it took an extra minute or so to connect when I first powered up at the course. That's it. Once you get into the routine of properly tagging, it's as accurate to literally ANY GPS device on the market. This isn't new technology. GG just married awesome software with GPS technology. Think of it as like dropping a pin with your iPhone, that's what this little box does every time you tag a club.

I didn't say the device "disconnected", I said there was a disconnect between how it interpreted a putt since the shot wasn't registered on the green. I've subsequently have learned that it counts each shot with a putter as being on the green unless you tell it otherwise.

But there's no doubt that the GPS measurement was waaaay off in a few cases. One had me hitting a drive about 200 and the 2nd shot 225 with my 2 hybrid. I know for a fact I hit the hybrid on that particular shot about 185, because I lasered the pin at 205 and came up about 20 short. So it had the drive off by 40 yards. It clearly lost GPS signal, or at that moment the GPS tolerance was way off.

That's certainly not unheard of with GPS. Happens occasionally when I use SkyDroid with my Samsung. The different being, however, is that there's an "accuracy" display on that app and you can see the tolerance at that moment based on how many satellites it's picking up.

I found this happened 3-4 more times during the round, although not as far off. By the way, the day was clear and sunny, and the course has few trees, so there shouldn't have been any kind of problem picking up a good GPS signal.

Used it again tonight, and the GPS either has a significant lag, or is just not locked in at times. Had two shots which were a good 20-30 yards off.

I'm going to start tagging after the shot it made to give it a few more seconds and we'll see what happens. I normally tag putts as I mark them, but I'll tag after I make the stroke.

If it helps at all, I tag my club as part of my pre-shot routine, so I'm literally over the ball in it's position for a good 15 seconds after it beeps.

i actually did the crowdfunding campaign for the caddieon device and I should be receiving it shortly, but I just couldnt pass up this deal on the gamegolf

the caddieon hasn't caught any footing in the states and the lack of courses is not gonna help it, though I think the device has some positives

How do you guys do penalty shots? Do you edit after the round where your initial ball ended up (I.e. A water hazard). Or do you just tag from where you drop so you lose out on the initial shot's accuracy?

The reason I was asking about penalties is because I had 4 penalty strokes that round (its super target golf, so if you haven't played it you can easily end up in the desert or water).
