Golf Ball Poll

Just thought it would be interesting to see what everyone is playing out there. After you vote, it would be great to hear some in depth reviews of why you play the ball you do.

I am currently playing the Pro V1x. For me, I find it just to be the best all around ball for my game. It gives me the Distance and feel off the tee, with plenty of green side spin to help me stop it quick! Another ball for me that gets a close second is the Nike '08 ONE platinum and black. The platinum is about 7-10 yards shorter off the tee and 3-5 shorter in the irons(compared to Pro V1x), but the feel and spin are OUTSTANDING! The One Black is a GREAT golf ball, off the tee, the distance is the same, maybe even a touch longer. Same thing with the irons. I was very impressed however with its green side spin, in my opinion the 08 ONE black spins more than previous versions. These are golf balls that have given my pro V1x a SERIOUS run for the money.

I look forward to seeing everyones responses.

At my club, lots of people seem to not exert effort in finding golf balls, so I pick up all kinds of balls. The ones that I've enjoyed using the most are the iX Tour, Prov1x, Z-URS, and NOB.

The iX tour is long and a great ball, but just a bit firm for my taste and ever so slightly difficult to manage with the type of short game I play.

When i do buy golf balls, I prefer the NOB, it seems to be a great all-around ball. But like I said, I wouldn't mind using any of the balls that I mentioned in the first line.

i like the nike one plat, not so much for performance but i when i was younger i bought titleist a dozen titleist proffessionals, and was so careful not to lose them that i lost the whole dozen the first round i played, no i also stunk back then but it put an imprint in my mind, for some reason the swoosh just gives me a really good feeling, i tend to get mental blocks, i am very curious about the new callaway tour ix, anyone use those and why they like them better than other balls, i think i might try those

Played the V1x for the last couple of years, loved the distance off the tee and solid feel off the irons. However, I always had a hard time controlling the spin with full short iron shots, I spin the ball a lot and am simply not good enough to control it always. I have hit many good shots onto a green that sucked back 10+ feet and ended up in the fringe or even the rough a time or two.

When the pro at my club introduced me to the proto version of the TM Red LDP at the end of last season I immiadetly fell in love! Softer, longer, straighter and just enough short iron spin to hold greens yet not suck back and off! For my game this ball seems to be perfect! Never thought I would leave Pro V1x, but it was easy to forget the name when the ball fit my game so well.

TaylorMade Red LDP for me.... It has been a strange year, took Titleist balls and TaylorMade driver out of the bag and added Nike driver and TaylorMade ball... two things I said I would never do.... but couldn't be happier!! ;)

I've been gaming the ix tour now for a few months, great distance and straight off the tee, more than enough spin with 1/2 to full wedges, absoultly love the spin around the greens just right for MY game. the main reason I prefer to others such as pro v1x (which I played for quite some time) Is I just love the feel of this ball, very subjective, I know, some think its a bit firm, but off the irons and putter it is second to none for me. lastly durability on these are phenominal for a "tour ball", best I've found outside of the NOB.

Well, being a ball ho I've played at least 6 of the options listed - sometimes more than one ball per option. My current favourite is last year's Nike One Black since they're not too spinny off of the tee, are pretty good for distance, check up ok on greens and are relatively cheap at $29/dozen. I've currently got about 5-6 different dozens of balls so every day is an adventure in ball selection ;) . I'm sure I'd probably benefit from picking one and sticking with it and will likely do that if I ever get to the end of my mishmash selection.

If I could have voted for more than one , I would have. I have played NXT Tours for years. Still have a dozen or so of the NXT dot Tours. Probably the best of the NXT Tour line. But I don't use them early in the year when my swing is rusty. I found the Precept Laddie Extreme to be a decent ball and at $10 a dozen, it won't hurt that I lose them or spray them all over the place. And I've been buying the Precept U-Tri Tours up lately so I'll have a good supply of them to use for awhile.
