Any opinions on the softest scotty putters that don't cost 5,000. I have went through a Circa 62'(charcoal Mist) Newport 2 Studio Stainless, and Newport 2 Studio Select. I can't seem to find one with a super soft feel.

Another vote for the carbon steel (gun blue or oil can) or the original Tel3 ones. Both my Studio Design 1.5 gun blue model and Circa #2 gun blue model are very soft.

Another vote here for the tei3. I rarely am able to hit it hard enough to go past the cup. For me it is TOO SOFT.

The Studio Style is probably the softest of the lot because of the elastomer ring around the insert.

The classic Oil Can Newports, oval track model, were like butter. Had a few, sold them all. Oh well, life goes on.

Agreed here, And I've found out that I don't really care for that ultra soft feeling in the carbon's. The newer stainless gives me more feedback, that's what I need image/ok.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':russian_roulette:' />

To me the Select is the hardest Scotty in awhile. I would say the Tei3 or the Tei10 would be the softest.

Phantom Mallet. Thick topline or impact area made of aluminum equals soft feel.

What is the durability like in the TeI3 putters? How does the insert hold up? Just wanting to know what they feel like before I buy one..........they are hard to find!!

I dont think its the insert you have to worry about. Its the pitting and rusting in the cavity that depreciates them from their full value most of the time. Inserts usually arent a problem. Gotta keep them oiled and clean...

Well, im a fanatically club cleaner so that shouldnt be a problem. The girlfriend thinks i have issues.... but come on, everyone on here would rather clean their clubs and shoes than the bathroom!
