KBS Tour V 120 vs Tour V 125

Hey fellas. What is the difference in flex between KBS Tour V 120 and 125. The 120 is X flex, yet the 125 is Stiff +? So is the 125 actually weaker than the 120? I'm trying to decide if I need to soft step the 125 or go straight in with them. Thanks!

Not weaker at all. The 125s play pretty stout. I have played them SS and they were great shafts. Don't ask why I got rid of them...chasing #s.

Hmm. I think I'll just soft step them once for the heck of it. I bought a set of new 125's 3-pw, and I've got a set of Wishon 979ss 4-PW heads, so I can use that extra wedge shaft for a gap wedge. It's not like soft-stepping one time will make a ton of difference anyway.

Sweet. Sounds like soft-stepping once will be the way to go. Thanks for the info.

I have KBS Tour V 110 Stiff flex in another set of irons... and they are stiff, much stiffer than other stiff flex shafts. Standard KBS Tour V X-Stiff is 120 grams. The KBS Tour V Tour Spec S+ is 125 grams and Tour Spec X is 130 grams.

I currently have a set of Tour V 120 in my Ping G25's straight in, and I really like them. I imagine the 125's will play similarly, but it certainly wouldn't hurt to soft step them once.

I would recommend reaching out to KBS, directly, if you have time. Their customer service is second to none. COMPLETE class acts. They walked me through your EXACT scenario..... was in the 120 X, wanted to lower flight so went to the S+ and found myself to be a bit outclassed against them. Even after that they were super helpful getting me into the right rig. They gave me advice on soft stepping, different options, etc. I mean just COMPLETE class acts. I am sure I was super annoying, peppering them with questions but they were so appreciative of my support of their brand and the fact that I was using their products. Honestly, given the class and care that they showed to me as a customer, they've earned my business for life. Not to mention, their shafts are KILLING it on tour right now. Last two majors, Rose, Rickie and perhaps most notable is all the young guys using their stuff...
