Played at some courses and rode in the rough, now I have chigger sores all over my left side. I should have worn pants as they seem to help keep them off. Man do they itch!!!

Any over the counter Anti-Itch cream and a Benadryl will help.

Miserable! Chiggers and those little seed ticks are my worst memories from summers in Louisiana.

Don't get chiggers here but there's some wee bugger that apparently only lives in my garden and likes to bite my ankles when I go out. Frankly it beggars the mind. I don't have kids. I don't have pets. What kind of insect has a life cycle that is predicated on biting my ankles in summer? Come to that - how does it get through my socks?

Only one known breeding location. My bloody back garden.

I use cheap hairspray as a treatment.
The glue type \ sealer kills the chiggers, and the alcohol in the hair spray keeps ot from getting infected, and soothes.
    I prefer Aqua Net hairspray.
It glues together the hair on your legs, but is stops the itching.
Before using, take a bath and add 1 cup of bleach.
This will kill the chiggers, and help with the itching.

I got hit by chiggers a couple times in the Army. A hot water soak, either a hot tub or a bath, helped. The hot tub was more effective, I'm guessing due to the chlorine content.

The hairspray sounds brilliant as it will stop them from crawling around. I did put some salve(chest rub) around my ankles and wore longer socks this time, at the same course. I stayed away from thick grass like the plague.

Rubbing alcohol or bleach will kill them .... bleach is also great for drying up poison ivy/oak. Can’t say it doesn’t have its own health risks. I don’t know. But I’ve personally used rubbing alcohol for chiggers with great results.
