Update 8/14 - ***Migration work continues. Estimate Go Live to new board 8/17***

Last year, in an effort to improve the capability of our forums, we switched to new software. We expected tremendous scalability and rapid customization that would significantly improve each Member's experience across multiple devices and integrate flawlessly with social media platforms.

Unfortunately, after a significant capital expense, we have decided that the length of time and the additional cost to reach our goals make this enterprise untenable.

Thus, we have made the difficult decision to transition the forums to our original software platform. We’re excited that, in the nearly two years since we began the process of our most recent switch, our original platform has been upgraded significantly, and we are confident that the reversion will not only provide the stability that we desperately needed prior to our last move but will also return to the Membership the high level of customization that made our online community so great. We have also added technical resources to the GolfWRX staff that will allow us to build custom modules and modifications that we are confident will take the forums to the next level.

We remain the world's largest online golf community, and we still hold true to our core values and mission statement as written in 2005. Bearing both of those elements in mind, being the best and offering our Members a platform that is world-class are both requirements, not options, and it is that spirit that has motivated this decision.

So, please pardon our mess over the next five days or so while we transition the forums.

A few important notes: Current content will be accessible during that time, but the forums will be READ ONLY, and you will not be able to start new threads or reply to posts. Personal Messaging is enabled but PMs sent/received from the time the board was frozen will not carry over. We know this is inconvenient, and we apologize, and we greatly appreciate GolfWRXers bearing with us through the transition.

We are very excited about starting this next chapter for GolfWRX and getting back to the high-quality Member experience we all expect as soon as possible.

Not sure why the formatting is all wonky. Anyway, let's get the season restarted! Anyone have any details on the course setup? The LPGA website is half finished for the event.

As has been discussed elsewhere, the field is pretty sparse with most of the top Asian, Canadian, and European players sitting out.

Not even going to begin to guess who will win this thing. Probably boils down to who has the least rust. Great opportunity for a young player who played a few events in the minor leagues to grab a victory.

Nelly, Danielle, Minjee and Lexi are clearly the top players.

But Madelene Sagstrom was the hottest player when plays were cancelled in February.

Christina Kim was playing well then and has been the headline girl recently.

Personally, I'm curious which Muni He will show up; the one who won 2019 Q-School or the one who stunt in 2019 season.

Amy Yang at 27-1 might be worth a couple bucks, that's some great value :)

The Tournament Entries section on the LPGA's website is greatly improved. Instead of simply listing the players, it breaks them down by category, e.g. World Top 80, Major Winner, Symetra Top 10, etc. Gives a much better idea how players are getting into the field.

Of the 50 highest ranked players entered based on World rankings, slightly more than half are from outside the US. I know a number of them have homes here, but the number is still much higher than I was expecting.

Top-80 2020 LPGA priority list is based on 2019 LPGA official money; not on Rolex Ranking.

Many KLPGA and JLPGA players are inside Top-80 Rolex Ranking, but aren't included in LPGA priority list.

Picking a winner pre-event is like playing Bingo are you gonna put 10K on a game of Bingo :) Match-up are what I usually play, especially with someone who follows the tour like myself, the line makers aren't that strong at knowing the ins and outs of the LPGA and you can find good opportunities in Match-ups. Match-ups are useless right now though, as we don't know any ones form right now.

Good advice; predicting a winner is like finding a needle in a haystack.

On the other hand; I could easily put $10,000 on Powerball tickets with nothing in return.

No Koreans on your list? I suppose they're not coming due to Covid?

The Top-8 Koreans have decided to wait it out in Korea. Some of them have been actively playing KLPGA tournaments.

We should see most of them, may not be all of them. return to the States for ANA Inspiration the week of Monday September 7, 2020.

I'm surprised so many of them look like they will pass on the WBO. Understand why they don't want to go to Ohio for two weeks but the trip to Scotland is of a different nature in my mind and not that different from coming to the U.S. for several months at the end of the year. Everyone is free to chose as they like but it comes across as a bit odd to me (playing golf is their job). That being said, MLB/NFL players are passing on their seasons too.

At least Inbee Park is scheduled to play AIG Women's Open; and I wouldn't be surprised that she returns to the States to play the rest of LPGA season.

It's a herd mentality that Koreans stay in a cocoon; but as you've said they'll return to their jobs sooner rather than later.

Got confused with the TV Sked - so 9am on Friday till only 11am I guess (I checked it wasn't a misread/typo LOL). Any ideas why this would be so? I guess PGA takes precedence and then there's no replay on Friday... I can understand the Sat and Sun coverages as it has not been out of sync with how they've done LPGA coverage in the past... Hopefully these players stay ok/safe as I just read (headlines only) that Ohio is potentially another new "hotspot"

This is a busy week at Golf Channel.

On Friday there're two PGA tournaments (WGC and Barracuda), and there's PGA Champions.

Weekends are OK, because CBS picks up part of the load.

It doesn't make too much sense!

    Beth Ann Nichols @GolfweekNichols

The LPGA's COVID-19 tests are driven overnight from Toledo to Rutgers (yes, in New Jersey). Turnaround time is about 24 to 36 hours. Some players were still waiting on their results today. They can practice but can't go inside anywhere.

Monday's first day of testing at the LPGA Drive On Championship resulted in one positive result. Gaby Lopez, a winner on the LPGA this season, has withdrawn and is self-isolating.

I know she's a Mexican by nationality but I wonder where she got it from? (eg Any idea if she flew into Ohio from Mexico or was already in the US by then? - presumably the latter due to quarantine impositions but from which state? FL? - or heck maybe even she doesn't know herself!)

She'll go into isolation for 10 days and gets tested again on Thursday August 6.

If she tests negative, she'll be allowed to fly with the charter plane to play in Scotland.

Cameron Champ of PGA tested positive but never showed any symptoms; he tested negative later on. Mistakes do happen.

I can't recall seeing an interview or article about, or social media post from Minjee Lee this entire time off. I'm actually surprised she didn't stay down under (assuming that's where she spent most of her time). I wouldn't expect her to win. Danielle Kang has been somewhat quiet to me as well during the break.

Lexi recently competed and Carlota competed a few times earlier in the pandemic. I'd have a hard time betting against those two if I was a gambling man. Boutier, Kupcho and others that have kept up competition would seem to be good picks to be in contention.

I'm interested in seeing how the players that found themselves in mini pods(but weren't competing) during the time off will fair. Angel Yin and Lizette Salas hung out some in California. Lydia Ko was in two pods. Will those players have trouble getting back up into competitive form?

Jennifer Kupcho won Colorado Women's Open and missed the cut by one shot at Colorado Open (men); she came fully prepared.

I've always thought Minjee seemed more focused on golf and less concerned about fitting in with the other players than most. Will be interesting to see how she does the rest of the season. At the start of last year I thought she could get to #1 in the next few years, as she was getting better little by little each year. However, she seems to have stalled out last year (albeit at a very high level) and has never got the most out of tight situations (easier said than done), so I'm not sure anymore. Best guess is that maybe she could have a 12-18 month run like SYR, and then the next wave will arrive and pass her by. She had a length advantage off the tee when she came out on tour but it has been largely been neutralized the last few years.

Minjee, along with Lydia and Brooke; have been the quintessential prodigies. All of them have been top amateurs and all have won LPGA at 18 or younger.

No new players since 2016 have been that exceptional; not Nelly Korda, not Nasa Hataoka, not Jennifer Kupcho.

The question is, among the three, who'll have better future results than what they've achieved already?

The answer is either Brooke or Minjee; and I'm dying to find out.

This is a little bit hard to say because to date Brooke has Minjee nearly doubled up in wins, one of which is the KPMG, so currently it's not even close. If Brooke retired now and Minjee caught her in 2.5 years (end of 2022 season), it would be a decent result. I.e. from Brooke just to tread water vs. what she's already done is not easy. If the question is who will do better from this week forward until they are done it is close. I would probably slightly favor Brooke, but the difference is likely mental focus, dedication, etc vs. the difference in game.

Brooke does have an impressive streak going of winning multiple times on tour for the last 4 years. Personally, I think this is more impressive than Lexi's 7-year win streak. Both will do well to keep it going in this shortened season...
