No j33 cbs, now what?

I have had a set of J33 CBs on order now for a month and still no time frame. I am getting a bit itchy so I have begun to wander.

What I am looking for is something a bit more forgiving than my mp32s without adding a ton of offset or thick top line. I thought the j33 cbs might be it but getting a set with DGSLs is proving difficult.

Off the top of my head, I am thinking of Cg4 tours, CG2s, Ping I5s or???

I know the I5s might fit the bill but I am having a hard time with the looks. I like the TM tp cavity but at $1k, they are a bit much.

...gotta agree with dan. the j33 cb's are well worth the wait. they just do everything well. i've said it before, but they look like a blade, feel like a blade. play like a blade, but have the forgiveness of a cavity back.

.. the cg4 tours have a very think topline. but if you can handle that, are a nice alternative. and the 695's bent a degree weak will also fit the bill. but none have the satin chrome and understated style of the j33's...

And they wonder why they can't get a foot hold in the U.S.

I looked at the j33 mp60 and 695cb. I spent the whole day with all 3 clubs, and I ended up buying the 695cb. I think they were the easiest to hit. the j33 was ok, nothing wrong with it, the titleist 695 just was eaiser to hit, and about 1 club longer than the j33. The j33 reminded me of a (little more forgiving) dci990.

The mp60's were very nice, but for me they hit the ball way to high. Also, the club has the same feel on all shots good or bad. I have played s300 for years and I don't want to switch.

So anyway, I think with any of these 3 irons you can't go wrong, they are all great, and all very close, but the titleist was the easiest for me to hit, had the best looking flight to it, and felt great on the face.

The 695 does not feel harsh at all. However I did used to play cast 990's, they were harsh.

Also the 695 on mis shots the ball still seemed to go straight, just about 10 yeards short. with the j33 a toe hit wouldn't fly straight.

Just my 2 cents.

Wait for the J33s. Significantly more forgiving than the 695cbs. The Bridgestones feel softer than the Titleiests. I love the looks of the 695s but the results with the J33s.

... hmmm, disagree. i think the j33 cb's are the better-looking sticks. i'd rate the softness of the two to be pretty equal. i'd rate the forgiveness to be pretty equal as well. playability ditto. toplines noticeably thinner on the j33's. offset less on the j33's (at least visually). ballflight similar despite the 1* stronger lofts in the 695's.

The J33's are good looking heads for sure. Other heads that have that player cavity back look?

Taylor Made 300 forged, Titleist 695 cb, Cleveland CG2, Mizuno mp-60, and dont forget the dark horse the Cobra forged cb's. Arguably one of the best looking and feeling heads you can play in my opinion.

The J33 head is top notch.

Okay, got a call back from the dealer and they are still 'in process".

I have decided to wait on the Bridgestone since I am not sure how much faster ordering another custom set would be. My Mizunos took 2 weeks.

I have to admit I did pick up some Cobra Forged CBs in the BST to tide me over until then. I do like sleeper brands. Get rid of the gold paintfill and they may work as a second set. We'll see

I find it hard to replace a J33 endo forged. its a class by itself. Not too soft but not too hard.. So i agree. wait for J33 CB. Fleabay alot of shaft option around . You know.. I prolly want to own a J33 CB Tour ... ^_^.. wait for my bonus though.

MP 60 is pretty good too. MP 60 is Dead and soft. J33 is lifely and soft.

Here's what I don't get....I have the J33 CBs...got them last week and had them out last weekend....They do not feel as soft as ether my Nike Pro Combo Tours (which, btw are great clubs) or the MP30s I used to play. Bridgestone says they use 1020 carbon steel because it IS softer than 1025 or 1030 which most manufacturers use...Why is this?
