Any one use it, or any snake eyes putter?
So my Redwood isn't going anywhere right now but I have the urge to try something new and I really like the looks of this head. Actually minus the face its the best looking #9 head I've seen. Has anyone ever used it or any other Snake Eyes putter for that matter. I curious as to how they feel off the face and what they could compare to.

I had last-year's Platinum model in the Anser style. Forgot the number. VERY good putter so long as it is set up for you and your grips properly sized (same as for any putter). Rolled very well, great distance control, and you could tell exactly where you were making contact on the face. Holed a lot of putts with it before moving on to Bettinardi.

What kind of feeling did you get off the face? Does their milling feel different than say Scotty or Ping? My biggest concern is feel with their face milling design.

Ive got the 7805, the 2009 model. I believe the differences are that the new one is 70* lie angle instead of 72, 2* loft instead of 3, and is lighter than the old one. Mine is 375 gms or something like that so it being lighter may be better for standard putter shaft installations. However, consider getting the old model and putting the 200gms putter shaft in it. To be honest you won't notice the difference between this and a standard weight putter, but definitely is smoother. In terms of feel and roll I would put it damn near the top of all insert and non insert putters. Soft feel and skids less than any other putter i have tried (maybe the method skids a little less, but its close). The milling pattern really makes this putter good. It is my gamer btw. If you don't want to invest as much money, the older model is very similar (go see the specs to tell the real difference) and you can get the old one on clearance for $40 (good deal).

Using a urethane ball, when I made flush, center of face contact, it felt almost like the ball disappeared. It was like a "ghost" sensation that was very pleasing in that you got only good vibrations from it and nothing else. However, if you missed the milled section of the face, you are dead. I don't have much experience with PING putters, but the feel was much softer than Cameron's, and the milling was just as responsive.

I've just put together a 7805 putter with a head from Golfsmith. I think it's BRILLIANT!! Swings really well, balances beautifully, smooth strike on the ball. I've just done some carpet putting with it so far but on that basis I'm thinking it's the best #9 type I've used - and I've used all the common #9 types except the Mollie and Odyssey Tour black. I love my Maranello and Fontana Tour models, and prefer them to the Del Mar, but this is just gorgeous. Easily the best looking head - looks like a handmade putter. And yes, nicer off the face than the Del Mar as somebody else said. My 7805 head weighed 377g. I used a standard .370 shaft - around 113g. High swing weight, but it feels smooth and natural. I'm a fan. Can't wait to get it on the course - I have the feeling this is going to find a home in my bag!

I've been carpet putting with my 7805 with a standard Winn grip. Actually the 377g head doesn't feel that unusual - doesn't feel like "a lot more". It swings fine. It's come out as 34.5", total weight 546g, balance point 696mm which with the online swing weight calculator gives F5. I don't think this is correct - seems too high.

I think the standard Winn grip may be a bit light - going to a Winn midsize grip (76g) gives total weight 563g, balance point 679mm which with the online swing weight calculator gives F2. Starting to look better balanced. I may swap my standard Winn grip to a midsize once I've played with the putter a bit on greens.

The grip weight could be increased to around 100g with other midsize grips. Others have used a 200g shaft - no idea what that gives. Seems to be going a bit heavy to me, since you can equalise the balance just with different types of midsize grips. A midsize grip should increase stability so with more weight that's probably a good thing.

Anyway, I think the 375g of head weight gives a lot of very sensible options. Gets better still if you cut the putter down to 33" or so.

Andy would you mind snapping a face picture of the putter? The face of the 7805 is whats really keeping me from jumping on it cus the price on golfsmith is great. In fact the face is what's keeping me from both the 7805 and 7815.

I'd like to give it a chance and with the heavier head I may opt for a lighter shaft and keep the rest at my normal specs, 34" and a Ping man blackout grip.

Snake Eyes have traditionally been good putters. Gamed a SE MCS-1L for 6 or 7 years. Holed a lot of putts with that thing. Very soft feel. kind of a poor man's Pro Platinum. Still in my vacation bag.

Haven't tried the new ones because they don't come in LH.

The little "scales" supposedly fit inside the dimples of the ball providing a truer, quicker roll. That's the pitch, anyway. My guess from previous experience with SE putters is it's probably pretty high quality and worth the money, but that's about all I can chip in.

I just picked up a 7805 off of a member here. Came in today and I just had to try it out. Absolutely love it. Snapped a few pics of the face.

the face looks very similar to the MacGregor line of putters, which also feel very good. It was between the MacGregor Prestwick, Cleveland Classic Bronze #1 & 2, and the Nike Method 001 and 003

It has a very soft feel and definitely reduces skidding. This putter should definitely be in your consideration despite the fact its not an OEM

Thanks for posting up pictures. I don't see myself getting rid of my current gamer but I've always liked the #9 head shape so I figured why not look for a cheap-ish project. After those pictures I'll be getting a 7805 sometime over the winter.
