Is there a good History of Putter Design Article on the web somewhere?

Don't ask me why, but I'm interested in learning about the small variations in anser style putters. I have questions like: Who started changing things up at the same time and after Karsten? Why? (experimentation, player input, etc.?) Where did Cameron's newport series come from and how did the variations develop? You know, that kind of stuff.

I'm interested in details.

Newport is a Ping Anser design. Same as a singer covering another artist original song.

Yep, I'm aware of that. Exact shape and positioning of weight are different, including among the Newports. What's the history of the changes? What were the influences, etc.? I'm looking for details.

I've been searching the net and can't find much. Anyone know of books or articles on the subject, even if it's just about the history of putter design in general?
