Version 2 Taylormade Qi10???

I happened to notice today that Rory has a Qi10 with a dot behind the loft, so I went and checked on the USGA list and lo and behold theres already a Version 2 on there, anyone else notice this yet?  I will try and get some info on this club but interesting move for sure...

Maybe the dot heads are the replacements they send out to people when the faces break.

I'm guessing it's a loft thing for two reasons. Taylormade has long used subtle markings on/around the printed loft to denote a difference from said print. Second, Rory has stated he likes seeing as little loft as possible on the face at address, and based on both early testing of the Qi10 LS and Rory's initial build, i'm guessing to get it looking they way he wanted it was simply too low spinning. Rory had the same issue with the SIM hence experimenting with the SIM MAX. Based on that, semi-educated guess is that these are 9* heads that spec out less than 9*.

This looks like the ls shape without the weight track.

No weight track would bring the spin up for sure but in a smaller footprint vs the regular model.

Or possibly a 8 degree head.

Why would a sorted loft head that specs out a little lower need to be on the usga conforming list as version 2? You'd think it would have some more tweaks then just a loft spec lower than stated.

I would bet it’s a tweener CGI/launch+spin characteristics between the plus and standard heads. Worth noting he went back to Ventus Black after having to go to ventus blue tr last year to fit with his stealth+

If it is an LS shape without the weight track, it's a shame TM won't sell them to the public, I would buy in a heartbeat. Same with the 13.5 tour 3 wood that has been floating around.

From what I’m hearing, this head is the same shape as the retail Core Qi10 but the CG is more forward to cut spin. Seems the LS is a bit too low spin in some instances and the Pro’s are needing to loft up.

Maybe it incorporates technology from the Hammer X driver, wrapped in some carbon to hide the magic?

There are always tour issue heads... I am not surprised. Probably the standard head design with a shape tweak.

This is the LS core head……to be exact it is the slightly larger profile core head with weight moved forward in the head to cut spin…….

Wouldn’t it need to be smaller to cut the spin down? 
 

edit-I think I misread. It’s not a bigger core version. It’s a bigger LS

This is quite funny and I agree with the sentiment to a degree, but lets think about this. 
1. Qi10 LS or even TSR3 put the most adjustability in their hardest to hit clubs (sliding weigh tracks). Why wouldn't consumers want that? Tour pros can have hot melt added or get several different heads to test relative to a consumer
2. For most OEMs the best looking shapes are in their hardest to hit clubs. TSR3, Paradym AIS TD, Cobra Darkspeed, G410 LST. Again why wouldn't consumers want that

3. Golfers want to connect with the pros and have something in common. Laughable but we have all been there. 
4. Just because Rors is using Qi10* doesn't mean he couldn't make the LS work. Lets remember TM has to hotmelt his head to get proper numbers. I assume they could have easily done the same in an LS head. It is obvious though Rors didn't mind using the regular Qi10* and it has served him very well.

So there is actually 5 different heads this year so far.  The Core (dot) head which has two versions.  A B version which is lower spinning with the weight moved forward and then a base C Core (dot) head.  Theres also the LS which is very low spinning this year, too low spinning for most TBH. Then a mini head and the max head.  From what we are seeing the Max head is the one getting the best tour feedback so far this year.  We will be getting in some of everything so as always if you are interested just shoot me an email I will put you on out waiting list.  We dont price gouge like most places, especially on those early heads, our price will remain the same all year long...
