KBS Tour V Stiff or X-Flex iron users

For anyone gaming KBS Tour V Stiff or X-Flex shafts in your irons what is your 6 or 7 iron swing speed and do you use the Stiff or X-Flex shafts? I'm kind of in the middle of the Stiff and X-flex with a 7 iron swing speed of 89mph. I ask because I just got fitted and LOVE the KBS Tour V shafts (both flexes felt good to me... not one more than the other though).

So 3 questions:

- What is your 6 or 7 iron swing speed and what flex did you choose and how do you like them?

- Does anyone have the Stiff flex in their longer irons and X-flex in their shorter irons?

- Did you hard or soft step your shafts?

I had the x in my s55. Loved them.

 

My 6 iron ss is about 94-96 mph.

I played the 120x in S55s. SS is around 90. Switched to the Tour V 125...super good shaft for me. Surprised they don't get much love around here.

 

Installed straight up.

Had the Tour V Stiff in my Nike Vapor Blades, absolutely loved them...

 

Then went to Tour 105 Stiff in my Pink s55's, need to go back to the Tour V, or the Tour S+

I played the Tour V for a few years now (until recently switching to Modus3 Tours). I've played both the x-flex SS once and the s-flex HS once. In the end, I actually liked the s-flex HS once better. The feel was outstanding and I prefer to hard step, when possible, to keep the flight down vs. soft-stepping and running the risk of increasing traj. Great shafts.

This for sure. I play 1/2" over and wanted the 120g weight so I went X flex. Feels really good. Playing over length is prob close to a soft step but I wanted a smoother feel coming from the c taper.

 

If you struggle with high traj, I would go X flex or hard step stiff.

 

Really comes down to what weight you prefer. I think the total weight will have a greater influence on peak height than flex. Imo.
