Hi! I Think maybe this is the right Place to ask. What whould you do here?

 

As you can see in my "signature" I got Driver 10,5, 5 Wood at 18,5 and then a hybrid 20,5. I Think the hybrid is a good cap from my 4 iron and its Amazing from the rough and fairway. Just as good as my 5 Wood, but 5 Wood goes a Little bit further, longer shaft and less loft so ofc.

 

But! Its not a huge cap from my hybrid to my 5 wood. Question is.. Should I sell the 5 Wood and get the Cobra f7 3 Wood at 14.5 to get a bigger cap? Becouse sometimes i dont know if i should use the Wood or the hybrid. What would u do in my Place?

yeh id dump the 5 wood in favor of a 3 wood personally in this current scenario.

the 5 wood is hugging your hybrid too closely performance wise, which prolly creates a lil bit of a cluster in the top-end of your bag.

having the 5ish * gaps between driver/wood/3hybrid makes more sense and is more balanced (generally).

Indeed, but wouldn´t it be to much cap between 14,5 3 Wood and hybrid at 20.5? Its 6 loft but maybe thats better then 2 loft. I am not a fan of changing loft from standard, bad experience of that :)

Serious question: What does "to much cap" mean?

I would go 4 wood/high loft 3 wood. If you go to something like a 14 or 15 degree club you will have a big yardage gap between 3 wood and hybrid.

Your F7 adjusts up to 17*, try it at that setting for distance?

I know,, but dont like to change loft from standard. Seems like the club change to much. Cant hit the club after I change lofts.. Weird but hey.. I maybe go for a Callaway xr 16 4 Wood. Just gonne test it

Get on a simulator at a local golf store and look at the carry and peak height of the 5w-4i to see where the overlap is occurring. Get rid of the club that makes the most sense. I would wager it would be the 4i that gets the boot.

 

Then ask yourself what you’re trying to accomplish. Are there Par 5’s that you could reach with the 3w? Is a 3w more of a tee club to substitute for driver occasionally?

 

Playing devil’s advocate... maybe you get a 3w, get rid of the 5w and 4i, and get a new wedge? Or, go 3w, 5w, 4i if you prefer the iron over the hybrid.

I would most likely use the 3 Wood of tee, when my driver isnt good enough. But would be nice if its good off the deck aswell. Thats why i Think about Cobra f7 at 14,5. My hybrid works great off the deck and turf. Its at 20,5. Big gap 14,5 to 20,5
