54 degree wedge similar to hi toe 58 degree

I am looking for some advice. I just bought a 58 degree Taylormade hi toe and absolutely love it. I am looking for a 54 degree that plays similar to the 58. Does anyone have an opinion?

Some will call me crazy, but I’ll share my story. I purchased a 60 degree pm grind a few years ago and absolutely loved it! So much that I bought a 56 degree as well. Loved it so much I bought a brand new 56 degree and had it bent to 52. The 52 then became my favorite club in my bag. I thought why not try to bend another 56 all the way to 47 and play it as my wedge. I didn’t have the guts to buy a brand new 56 for this experiment, so I bought a used 56 and bent it to 47. The experiment worked and I wouldn’t trade them for anything. Absolutely changed my short game. There will be many that say I altered the bounce too much and it shouldn’t be done, but it worked for me and I couldn’t be happier.

If they have a hi toe 56, just get it bent. I play a 56 PM Grind bent to 54 and love it.

Bending a PM 56 to 54 or......buying the 54 degree Tour Edge Rally are your only options.

Wow. This qualifies for my top ten list of the craziest things I’ve ever heard regarding club modification. 56 to 47? 9 degrees?

 

I’m shocked it didn’t break. The face regression would be epic.

What about a Taylormade milled grind 54? I know the grind won’t be the same.

I got the Rally 54 and play it fine. To me the same as PM grind but maybe a smidgeon more bounce on the leading edge. Maybe a bit easier from fairway than PM (or just in my head).

Big fat sole easy with soft conditions, close it slightly and hit off hardpan.

Vacillate between rally and conventional sand wedge.

Rally 54 is naturally great on longer bunker shots, greenside longer flops. Ok from fairway, chips, standard pitches. Price is half the hi toe.
