Speed without yanking the handle?

Hey just thought of what I do when I feel that I’ve gotten back into the habit of yanking - my transition thought is to hit the ball with my right shoulder. Synchs the arms and body nicely and you definitely don’t yank the handle - feel to me is that I’m extending my right arm through release and otherwise they do little - it’s all the in the shoulder - found it also helps with getting good right side bend.

Good idea, I’ll give that a try. I like the idea of that swing thought.

Weather is perfect in Fresno right now but the Super killed all our greens. Two thumps up for him.

Exactly my feels. I tend to want to yank hard with my arms ..and this leads to pulls and bump ahead of the ball wipes. .. but when I’m just bumping my hips and leaving my arms passive it’s like there’s no way to hit it but straight. And when I get into that groove is when I’m making most power too. Backswing for me is same. Turn core back and leave arms in front until they reach the top naturally. Not pull hard with arms to reach tall at the top. That’s the double yank drill of doom.

Learn to pause at the top even if only for a split second. You can't yank and hit from the top if you have that slight pause.

I love watching Hideki Matsuyama for this reason. His pause at the top is exaggerated but the thought of doing that can slow down the transition.

Got to play Ram’s Hill Borrego Springs today for a charity two man scramble. What a f*cking amazing course.

Played really well actually didn’t worry about mechanics that much just focused on being relaxed and having a smooth tempo.

Our twosome won the gross, I won long drive and I won one of the closest to the pin contests which qualifies me to compete for a 1,000,000 hole in one contest in a couple of weeks. Today was a good day.

I’d recommend Ram’s Hill to absolutely anyone. To say it’s remote is an understatement but it is a hell of a course.
