Prior model Tour issue vs Newest standard model driver

I've never hit a Tour Issue driver and not sure if the CT really makes a big difference. I typically fight a hook so I think the open face on a Tour issue TM M6 could help with that. I play an M5 now and love it. Even tinkering with the weights ill fight a hook as my miss (yes I know its swing related)

 

But what would you guys do and what are your opinions? I can either buy a new Tour Issue M6 head or get a regular SIIM head for the same price. Ive tested the SIM over the last month and saw minor improvements over my M5 but ive always been curious if a Tour Issue head is worth it or not

 

Part of me is leaning towards M6 since it'll be slightly more forgiving... But I do love the look of SIM at address

I'd weaken my grip just a little and make the same swing.

Good advice above. Search on line hook videos.....you love the look of the sim.You need to demo the tour issue or see will peoples site.Likely you may see no benefit from it IF you fix the hook with a Lesson!! Buy two keep one....buy 3 keep 1 those may be the odds

both solid points!! for $400 for the driver heads plus my $300 gift card to my club, lessons could finally be a real possibility this year

CT makes next to no difference. I think people more knowledgeable than I have stated it’s a yard or so between a low CT and “hot.” The real benefit comes from knowing the measured specs of the head and using that information to narrow down the right head for you. Another instance would be where a specific shape/profile/etc is only available via tour issue but thats obvious. Knowing the specs certainly helps to further tune the club for you, like a head that is high launching by nature and you’re able to cherry pick one with a lower measured loft, for example. The openness of tour issue heads can help as well - many prefer a look that is slightly open but keep in mind it’s also related to loft as for every degree of face angle (open in this case) the measured loft would be adjusted for a square club face (I want to say the number is 0.5-0.7*) - thus, a 10* head that is 1.5 degrees open would be ~9* when squared.
