What is the #2 ball on PGA Tour?

Every week you hear Titleist with 100+ players and the next closest competitor around 20 something.

 

What ball would that be? Nike? Callaway? Taylormade?

 

Does someone have an actual ball count from a tournament?

With the increasing number of Nike reps, I'm gonna say the One Tour or One Tour D. I actually love them, I switched to the Tour D from a ProV1x...basically the same ball, but the TD feels a little softer.

Or are not all of their staffers playing the TM and Cally balls?

Wow, I'm a titleist fan and I'm even suprised that they were so successful.

Albeit, TM has the #1 driver count at virtually all the Tour stops(which is bought and paid for), it looks like the top tier players lean towards Titleist-for virtually everything.

Huh, I thought it might be the penta. I would not have thought that Callaway and the #1 irons in golf did not even make the list! As Mugato would say"Taylormade is so hot right now" I think that is his name lol

is it surprising that there are not more Nike in the fairway wood category? Seems like every week someone is posting something about a being surprised to find a sq dymo 3 or 5 in someone new's hands. Or, am i just getting old and senile?

surprising to see not many players playing mizuno irons. they must not pay a lot of money to players.

I'm surprised Cleveland wedges were in 3rd I thought more players would have cleveland wedges after Titleist.

It's funny because most of the pics posted on this board from each tourney show a ton of 588 wedges being used.

I'm sad more players dont use Mizuno irons. I remember the late 90's before certain companies bought out everyone that all the pros were using mizuno irons. I wonder what brand pro's would play if given the choice with no money involved.

Why would that make you sad. We don't get paid, so we don't have a contract that says we have to play 11 clubs or more from any given manufacturer. Mizuno makes great irons, so does Scratch, so does Miura, Bridgestone's new clubs seem to be just fine. Look in the bags, not many play all 14, those that only have partial contracts have a real mix. It doesn't even make sense for them to go out and try clubs from other manufacturers as they couldn't play them anyway. Great example, they don't paid (much?) to play shafts and look at the big mix in play. They are the ones married to a brand, we have freedom to Ho around as much as we want. I'm sad for the Pros.

Even though this is a golf ball thread, I've noticed that almost every week a Titleist player or two are up in the top spots; more than usual. Been a good year for Titleist players.

Any on have a break down for the Barclays? That tourney had twice the field and I wonder how that would affect the brand usage numbers.

Wow, Srixon didn't make the top three in balls. Little shocked at that. Guess it's all about how many guys you have under contract.
