Love seeing Wilson Staff out on tour. When I see these pics it makes me want to get my FG-17's cleaned up and re-shafted. Can't hit them but one can dream!

I would love to see Wilson have a bigger presence, both tour and amateur.

But, my guess is that drivers drive sales and I don't know of any pros playing Wilson drivers/woods, hence, no buzz.

Which sucks because the M3 driver is, i think the best driver on the market

I agree it is great to see WS on tour. BUT it seems they don't want to promote via the traditional media, GD and Golf as two examples. I do not know how they expect consumers to know the line is so great if they do not scream it via print and internet.
Wilson Sports is not a small company and they clearly promote in tennis, baseball and in other ball sports.

Wilson dropped the ball big time with the Staff line-

They've never capitalized off of the history and legacy that won 62 majors.

Back in the day, when you said "Tour Blade," that meant one, and only one iron, the 17.

They just never captialized, and as great a designer as Bob Mendrella was, and make no mistake, he's at at the top with a few select designers, they had some miss steps in the late 80's-early 90's, though their wedges still dominated the Tour till the mid 90's-

And they've always had the big box sets.

Sam Snead Blue Ridge, Patty Berg, etc.

It was as though Staff was the luxury brand, the brand that was in the country clubs and better golf shops.

Staff was Staff, nuff said.

Their execs have continued to drop kick it strategically, though their Players irons, especially their MBs, take a back seat to no one's.

I played Staff from 1967-87, then Mizzy through today, however I've gotta set of 59's & 62's, and I've played the 59's, and they are a very special iron, IMO, second only to the 17's going back to 1980.

Those "Seriously" ads were bullsh!t, and they sure the hell weren't gonna get Players with em, and they obviously didn't get the mid-high cappers with the C & D irons, which got nice reviews in Europe.

Funny?

Maybe, but the Serious Players don't buy clubs based on corny ads.

At least non of the guys that I know.

I got to hit the 100's, 8i-PW, and again, world class.

I'm not a fan of the black CB,one, cuz I don't play a CB and two, because again, they come out with something that Adams did a few years ago, with the blackened iron.

Too little, too late, IMO.

That, and I wouldn't like my irons bein 3 months old & lookin like the were 3 years old, though that's just me.

And their Fybrids(hybrid) were a great club, as Paddy showed when he threw that 218 yd dart on #17 to take The Open.

I really hope that they get their act together,

They have a rich history, legacy & they make a phenominal blade, and it looks like they have the line-up to compliment them.

Unfortunately, those who do not learn from history are usually doomed to repeat it.

That's a damn shame.

Their clubs deserve better

However, that "throwback" bag is gorgeous

A smaller stand/cart bag would be incredible, hell I'd use it with my 68's in it ;)

Great thread!

In all seriousness, if they were smart they would try and get a junior/college presence. Kids LOVE free stuff, but more importantly, they like knowing someone wants them. Titleist, Ping, TM, and Callaway all have a junior/college presence, and Nike really gets involved at the college level. They're never going to take over the market, but there are so many kids that fly under the radar. Throw some custom fit irons/wedges around, build the name back up among the 'serious' players, create brand loyalty...
