just this saturday, playing with some friends, at our local course (the only one in town, lol) playing long tee's, i'm a 18 hc, my friendas are 9. 7 hole par 5 510 yds, huge left to rigth dog leg with a pond and a big tree rigth in the corner, but for the second shot, the tee shot is hit is as long as you can, but as closer to the rigth side near the pond. so i smashed the ball about 310 leaving me a 175 nest to the pond facing the big tree, got a 7 iron and left it 10 feet, and missed an eagle. one of the longest drives i ever hitted tho.

Playing with a buddy the last two weeks. Par 5, very hilly course, about 540 yards. He pounded a drive down the middle. I hit mine right almost into the trees. Ball is WAAYY above my feet in some thick rough. Also an uphill lie, and I have to keep it low of some trees. I try to punch a 5 iron, and proceed to top it into some REALLY think rough, right between two globs of grass. I have no choice at this point but to chip out sideway. I manage to get it into the fairway, about 300 yards out still. I smash a 4 wood to 50 yards, lying 4 now.

My buddy finally gets to hit his 2nd shot, which he puts about 20 yards inside mine.

I tell him I really need to pitch one in here. Wouldn't you know I made the damn thing for a par.

My buddy flops a giant piece of sod over his ball for his 3rd, chips 20 feet past the hole and 2 putts for bogey. I win the hole.

---

This past Sunday, same buddy. 370 yards, very sharp dogleg right. Wind blowing hard left to right. Normally I'd hit a FW wood off the tee but I've been driving the ball well all weekend. Hit a nice one, but started it too far right, and the wind blows it into the trees. Buddy hits a FW wood just inside the corner of the dogleg.

We get up there, can't find my ball, drive back to where I'm going to drop (terrible position too, as I'm still blocked by trees). He spots a ball lying in the rough... Mine, of course, and I'm safe. He says "No wonder why I can't beat you". I said "No, that's not why..."

So now I'm about 165 out, downhill lie, and am still blocked out by the trees. I hit a 40 yard cut shot where the ball didn't get more than 10 feet off the ground. It landed about 40 yards in front of the green, and rolled up onto the fringe, dead middle of the green. I said "THAT is why you can't beat me".

He proceeded to pull this 3rd shot and failed to get up/down. I had a tough chip to a pin placed right over a ridge. Knocked it to 3 feet and made par. Won the hole.

My best shot yet is in hole 17 long par 4, 380 yards with a lot of bunkers and trees.

I hooked a 230 yards drive into the worst fairway bunker of all the course because it was deep and had two big trees in front of it, the green was 150 yards from the bunker and was a very hard green because it had bunkers al around excepting for the "door" to get into it. The pin was sticked in the front of the green wayyyyy left.

I grabbed my old good titleist 6 iron tour model blade (yes from 1980) and aimed to the right edge of the green, like 50 yards right of the flag and hit it hard hooking to the middle rolling to get a 10 footer for birdie (that I holed).

P.S: Notice I´m a 13 years old

Playing in a points game a few years back with around 50 players. On a 145 yd par 3, I hooked my 8 iron towards the left side bunker. The ball hits the rake in the edge of the bunker and the ball bounces up on the green 6" from an ace. I won both the closest to the pin money and I was the only one who birdied the hole for a skin. Overall, I netted about $100 on that shot.

My recent one...

Live in NY, haven't played in 2 months. Was at Panther Lakes in Orlando couple weeks ago (left 80* sunny weather and came back to a 14" snow storm), #7 Par 5 playing at 545yds. Hit a nice drive, had 258 yds to the pin (need 240 carry over marsh according to their GPS). I figured screw laying up, my 3W CB2 is money...took a nice smooth swing, caught it FLUSH. Ball lands and ends up 5ft from the pin, then i lagged my eagle putt...i was pissed about a kick in birdie.

I had ice water in my veins for a 258 yds shot over a marsh, and a 5ft birdie putt scared me. *SIGH*

17th hole 169 yard Par 3 at Maryvale Golf Course. It was my home course, about a block from my house and I grew up playing there with my dad and brother and neighborhood friends as well, and would go on to eventually work there. Anyways,Im probably 11 or 12 at the time and my Dad, brother, and I are playing when we reach the 17th hole where I proceed to totally duff my tee shot, barely even moving the ball. So then I walk about 3 feet to my ball, still resting on the tee box, and proceed to hole it out! Nice birdie the hard way and next best thing to a hole in one

Hit a drive with slight pull to the right (I am left handed). I knew it was trouble as there was a small pond down on the right. As I got to the pond, my ball had indeed rolled into the pond a few feet beyond the bank. However, it was perched about 80% out of the water on some vegetation. The water was about a foot deep, so I took off my shoes and waded in. I was about 100yds from the green, so I took a little extra club (9i) with the intent of trying to pick it clean like playing out of sand. I hovered the club above the water and pulled the trigger. I felt contact, but water went everywhere as the clubhead penetrated the surface and created a huge splash. I was sure that I had just driven the ball into the bottom of the pond. As I looked up, I saw my ball land just short of the pin and roll up to about 2 feet. I made the putt for birdie. Best shot of my life...hands down!! Perfect execution.

i was just practicing around one day and on a short par 4, i have a wedge left and pull it a little left. i hit another one and it takes one bounce and goes in the hole for a mulligan eagle. i get up to the next hole (159 yard par 3) and hit a 7 iron and once again pull it left. i drop another ball down for practice and hole it out for a mulligan hole-in-one. why can't i do that the first time?!?!
